Either I'm too picky, either just an idiot...

My buddy must sell his 740.

It's a 1990, B230FT with manual transmission, maintenance at the dealer only (to think about it, looks like nobody in Europe do their own maintenance...), never ever saw winter, only 58,010km! 3000 Euros (might be able to deal a little bit) + importation (about 1500$), so about 6,000$ He's keeping the car for me until May when I'll visit him.

I'm tempted, but as usual, I'm undecisive... It's a 740 sedan, a '90, I don't like much the interior with the old dash and brown interior, it's a lot of money, I might not find the love I have for my current car, yadayadayada... :Hangman:

I already miss the occasion on a much nicer '92 940T.

Somebody, please kick my ass! Image

:axe: The line forms behind me

That is hawt, The price on the car is good, it is the added import fees that increase the price some

I think shipping alone will be at least $1500. Tax of 12%, plus import and inspection fees ~$450...you're closer to $7000. Still pretty good for a practically new volvo.

We just brought a 1989 BMW 535i over from Japan. 50,000km and it is IMMACULATE. Total cost to the customer, including our fee, $7500. You can get volvos for cheaper, but most of the ones from Japan are right hand drive. Still, a RHD volvo would certainly be unique in calgary!

Things are, I want a wagon, something as sweet than this one

http://www.calgaryvolvoclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8012&highlight=#8012

Well, I could always get it until I find something that nice, but it's a lot of money that I have to put cash on the table and it seems to be a complicated project for someone who don't know how things work. And if things don't work out as I want, I doubt I'd be able to sell it without losing too much money. (But considering that I want a low milleage car with a manual transmission, it's not really more expensive than getting one from the US that I would have to convert the tranny)

Can't Ian do the inspection?

Mechanicaly, what is the difference between a '90 and a '91? Is it possible to change the climate control for a newer one like mine?

I was looking at tradecarview at Japanese Volvo. I didn't see a single turbo and are not really less expensive than Europ.

But anyway, I'm still wondering if I really need it. My car still work fine. :?

Ian can't do the inspection, you need a licenced service center to do an out of province, like....valentine volvo.

Ah, same thing than I did on my car when I first arrived... Big deal! If my car can pass it, a brand new car is a piece of cake! And I paid 150$, not 450$.

But I saw a thread where Ian said he could do inspection. :?:

he can do safety inspections and everything, but the out of province has to be a licenced service center because of the paperwork...like 3 copies of the inspection report, and then 3 copies of the out of province certificate.

Nobody wants? I'll tell him to sell it.

Oh, and I did find something that suit me better! 8)
