July 6, 7 & 8 is the annual Lethbridge "Street Wheelers" car show. The event is awesome and includes controled cruises, 100' drags, and a show & shine. I will be attending as usual and hope to see some of you down there.

Craig and Greg, hope to see you when I come down

It would be great to finally meet Ian, and see your car! I was sorry I missed you last year.
If I'm still jobless in the next couple weeks, I will be out surfing in Oregon the week of Street Wheelers. If I'm working though, I'll definitely be around, and would love to meet up at some point.

 Did you have a wife making money to pay for your surfing trips?

We don't have much $ kicking around right now, but my wife really needs a break from work....her idea to go to the coast. I had a tough time convincing her (or myself) it was a bad idea!

Cool man. I can definitely see being jobless, if you're the only breadwinner, as a stressful/crappy situation. I'm stressed as it is right now....

Glad to hear your setup is sweet now! How's that C70 treatin' ya'?

Great .. I think
In the middle of the "Out of Province Inspection"
Shop wants a few minor items fixed before they will pass it, not a big deal and should be on the road next week

I'll be there...at least the stereo will now drown out the horrible sound of my B18 - maybe I'll have the interior in the car - but that Vega's got nothing to be scared of (probably gets better mileage than my 122 as well :( )

Well...we made it there...and back! What a great time! Got into Lethbridge about 7:15 Friday and drove straight to the exhibition grounds to sign in for the cruise. Apparently they were being a little picky about who was allowed in the cruise and were making them drive down the "runway" sort of like an audition. We drove up; a young lady came up and slapped a sticker on my windshield and leaned down and said "signing in for the cruise?" Guess I passed the audition...

The cruise was fun although it was pretty much like it was 20 years ago downtown Calgary on a Saturday night. All the cars drove up and down 3rd Ave. The only difference was we were the only cars allowed on the street. Lots and lots of interesting vehicles. I'm not even going to try to list them. Street Wheelers should have some pictures up on their website sometime.

Saturday Beth and I spent most of the day with my parents but came into Lethbridge for afternoon "tea" at Craig and Deidre's (hope I spelled that right) place. Ian and his buddy Pat were there too. Great to see all Craig's toys and his car. That's one clean 122. Makes mine look like a rust-bucket...

This morning we came into town early to get a good spot at the show & shine. Again, so many cars there it would be difficult to even begin to describe any of them. Suffice it to say there were a mind-boggling number of unbelievable cars, from classics to full mods and absolutely everything in between. I could've spent all day taking pictures but I would've been waiting all day for people to get out of the way too. There were an astounding number of people there. It seemed like there were crowds of people walking by...all the time. However...I did snap a few pictures...mainly of Ian's and my car...and a couple for Matt...

First, the couple for Matt...

Image

Yup...a Hemi Superbird. Looked like 10,009 miles on the clock and it could've been original, for all I could tell. It was perfect...

And now some of our cars, and the crowds...

So...there you have it...my first cruise and show. Loads of positive comments from people. Fascinating to listen in to people chatting amongst themselves about either car. We had a great location, on either side of a couple of trees so had plenty of space between for chairs and guests. It was a great time. Beth even enjoyed it and she was there for almost the entire 6 hours! Start planning now for next year guys. We'll show them a serious Volvo representation...

SWEET! I see you got the prized spot across from Catholic Charities and the gelato place!
Sorry I missed it! Great you could make it down Dale. Would have been fun to hang out with you all. Next year. Just got in from the Kootenays, and all the way from Cranbrook we were seeing all sorts of nice cars. Saw a 355 as soon as I got onto Scenic Drive. More Volvos next year for sure.
