Hey Matt, can I get that hood back from you? I know you weren't a fan of those GT fogs anyway.

So much for my nice euro front end...at least it should be a relatively easy fix.

Luckily I had jammed on the brakes so minimized the damage to the Jetta I hit. The girl was really nice too.

What a dumbass, I should know better than to mess with the stereo on friggin memorial during rush hour...

and crap those brakes lock up easy!

Ewww...that's a little on the ugly side. I've got a GT grill you might be able to rescue. I've also got a bunch of foglight brackets...

Sure, come get the hood. I hope the headlights aren't busted too badly.

Sorry, man... that's terrible.

damn that sucks athal, its bound to happen with the way traffic goes in this city, i hate it, you will be cruising down deerfoot at 100 and half a km later your doing 30.

I too have a GT grill somewhere that you are welcome to, i believe two of the "fins" are broken off a little short on the driver's side top corner, not that noticeable once its installed though.

One headlight looks ok, the drivers side glass is done. AFter I paid $80 to get them 3M'd too! The fogs might be salvageable, but whatever. I'm most pissed about the headlights.

Actually, just looking at the picture, I'm not sure what to do about the lower piece, is that part of the frame? I'm too tired to go out and look. Again, whatever, if I have to bang it back into place. I'll see whats out at pyp when i go look for a new upper rad support.

I'm mostly just pissed at myself for ruining my perfect driving record. And my back is a bit sore.

if im not mistaken the bottom peice is spot welded to the rest of the sheet metal, its doable(i once tried to remove one at PnP cuz mine is rusted) but you will need a drill or hammer and chisel to remove the spot welds, there are lots of 240s right now at PNP

I might have one or two of those too, along with an upper rad support.

Come on by and we'll raid my parts supply.

Thanks Matt. I have a networking thing down at the glenmore inn tonight, so I'll give you a shout and drop by after if it's not too late.

I kept the upper support from my 245. It's silver and has holes for GT brackets already... :D

got a call from the girl I hit. Apparently her insurance adjuster (AMA) estimates the damage somewhere north of 6 GRAND. What a load of poop. Then she's supposed to go out and find a shop that will do it for that price.

That seems kind of backwards to me. Anyone else know how this crap works?

Seems to me she should get some independent estimates as well. I'm hoping MY insurance company will want to take a look at her car as well. I'll show them pictures, and parts from my car so they can figure out how my headlight, grille and rad support did $6000 damage to her Jetta. I have yet to see the paperwork, she's faxing me the estimate.
