If anyone is doing a brake job in the near future and needs to get their rotors turned, give that place down near the water treatment plant (right on Ogden, at the lights, just North of the bridge over the river) a try. I forget what they're called, but they're right on that corner. Dale will know.

They quoted me $12/rotor, which is suspiciously cheap. I don't want to experiment with my Wilwoods (especially since they only need a light cleanup) so I'm paying Cetus considerably more than that.

Let us know any experiences you have with them, 'kay?

I've always taken mine to crappy tire or part source. $10/per, so not sure why $12 seems odd.

$12 to get someone who's got a mechanic's license to machine your brakes seems cheap to me. The last few times I've taken them to Partsource or Auto Value, they've come back this side of unusable, at best. The last incident was some dude who swore that my rotor was warped too badly to fix: he had it in the machine cockeyed but didnt notice anything was wrong until he cut a 1/4" deep groove into alternating halves of the rotor.

Dale remembers, and he probably remembers how bad the rear rotors were that were handed back to me on that trip too.

Ouch, bad luck. Never had problems myself, but an extra $2 to HOPEFULLY get someone more qualified does seem like cheap insurance.

Well I took mine to Cetus and paid a HELL of a lot more than $12/rotor, but the finish is good and I'm confident that they are true. Doesn't hurt that they're right around the corner from the office, saving a bit of money in my gas-guzzling truck.

The rear rotors that worked great for over a year on my silver wagon? Yeah...I remember those. I admit, they were a bit on the rough side though...

I REALLY have to come and play with you at work, one day.

Speaking of which, I need to press in/out some bushings mighty soon.

its so slow to machine them, I can usually find some sort of excuse to replace them.
