So I bought these a couple of months ago expecting to get a certain 2.4 car with know blown engine and possibly bad ECU. That fell through and these are collecting dust on the shelf. I want what I paid for them...works out to about $300CAD...

Only if you swap the injection system to LH 2.4. It's a little complicated in a 240 series car but it can be done. You were planning to go with an aftermarket fuel injection set-up, weren't you?

Houston: "easy" is a relative term. To use this you'd have to source out a '90+ 740 or 940 turbo and get all the wiring harness, sensors, AMM, etc., and transplant it into your car.

To install Megasquirt or SDS, you're probably building or at least completing a harness, and you can use pretty much whatever sensors that fall easily to hand. The tricky part is tuning it.

Whichever standpoint you take, it would be lots better than the K-jet you've got now, but it's going to be a bit of work.

Steph: Dale got these from a guy on Turbobricks. The chips come from another guy on Turbobricks. The chips were about $250 plus shipping, IIRC, but they may have gone up. By the time shipping, duty, and GST are paid, you'll be well over the $300 mark, and this way you'd have a spare pair of computers to switch back and forth with if you wanted/needed to, or if you sell your car you could put the stock computers back in and keep these for the next car, or whatever.

Why aren't you using that instead of the 2.2, Raz? You know the 2.4 automatically adjusts for bigger injectors, and you can drop in a B6304F AMM as well, and everything will self-adjust to the optimal settings.

Oh yea, the LH2.4 is that "learning ECU" isn't it?

Mmmm, mayhaps when I can afford bigger injectors?

Sorry for the long time since i looked at this post - i have had issues at work and the volvo is in pain...you should see the clutch - i snapped the pressure plate in 3 places and the fly wheel has a 1/4" grove in it...i will be up and ready with a new clutch and flywheel monday. And last rally on the 10th and 11th - i may have a chance to win my group - 2nd over all right now!!

As far as the k-jet conversion. i would really like some advice and even some help to do this switch. I have 2 manifolds, throttle bodies, fuel rails - but no electrical parts from 740 turbos. Thats it for parts. My budget is really quite low since i am getting married in the spring. Does anyone have the rest of the parts to do either MEGA SQUIRT or the LS swap I can buy off them? If I rip out all the K-jet and mainfold and get it nice and clean...could anyone give me ahand to assemple either system in November and December? Reigal will tune it for me on the dyno once it can drive there.

thanks

h.

I would love to donate the LH2.2 or LH2.4 to the cause.

if I swap to 2.4 you can have my 2.2, if I'm too lazy, you can just have the full 2.4 sitting in my garage (full harness and ECUs)

you rock...

I have my last rally this weekend, and once that is done i will be deciding whether to keep the car or build a new one. If i keep it i would be honoured to use your system. I will chat with you next week and we can go from there...

Excuse my ignorance here Dale, but what is it exactly that you're selling ? Is it something I could use in the 940 T ? Is it stock stuff or performance enhanced ? If enhanced, what will it add ?

Thanks,

Roj
