While I was pulling parts from the 123 at PYOP today, that young fellow we see at Race City came by. He's the guy that runs the stopwatch at the autocross...

Anyhow, he mentioned to me last summer that he was building a 122. He mentioned it again this past summer. Today he said he was thinking about selling it.

A little history...

This is the white 122 that sat out on the grass at Heritage Motors for some time. It's got a full cage in it from Guyon. Apparently the cage cost $3500 to put in. It has no rust. It's got a B18 currently and has been run in some Solo events at Race City. The engine is unknown in terms of cam etc, as is the suspension.

The current owner bought a fuel cell for it as well as a Painless wiring harness and planned to get it running and go racing. He's lost interest and has other projects and wants to unload it. He said he paid Heritage $2000 for it and would be happy to get $1500 with the fuel cell and Painless harness. Without, he'd take less...maybe $1000.

So...who wants to go racing? He'll be calling me in a few days to see if anyone is interested. I'd love to make this a "club" project but I most certainly don't have any place to store it, until the blue wagon goes away anyways...

Damn, the deals just keep falling into your lap...at the very least it could be turned into a runner and sold for a few bob. No spare cash at the present time to finance the entire deal, but I'd be willing to contribute to the effort. A CVC race car - wonder if we could get some sponsorship? Avalanche Performance test mule...

He told me it's pretty much a track car and would take a lot of work to make it street legal. I'm assuming there are no lights (or wires). He said the windows are all lexan so I'm guessing there were some frames welded in.

Avalanche test mule? That's kinda what the current 122 is...

I was thinking race car...there's bound to be someone in the States that want one for vintage racing. I don't know how much of this sort of thing goes on in our kneck of the woods.

Once the red car is all pretty, you could use something a little rough to try out wilder ideas (IRS etc) - just a thought
