wow I have found lots of jobs... hopefully something will turn out soon. I can't wait to get out there. And for the drive!!!

Vik, What company do you work for and can you get me a bit more info on the jobs??

And I will keep this updated as much as I can. I hope to not have to sleep in my car when I get out there, but hey thats why I got the wagon!!

Also I never thought I had soo much volvo junk and parts and other stuff laying around that I won't be able to bring out. I am only going to bring one of the three bikes, as much tools as will fit... my computer, xbox 360, ps2( I haven't played the 360 or the ps2 in month so I might just sell them) , boxes of text books, guitar

neil - when you're going through Ontario - beware the giant geese of Wawa, and just something to make you giggle but makes me sound like a sacreligious type...there is a church...I think it's past Wawa, I could be wrong though this was three years ago I did the drive...but there is a church on the side of the road called "Our Lady of the Highway".

The drive through northern ontario is gorgeous, and FUN! I can't vouch for any further east though than Ottawa... and once you pop out of Kenora it's pretty boring the rest of the way.

and I don't remember that place when I came home in the summer. but when going through northern ontario we both lost our minds when we stoped in Wabigoon

Hey, it's no mountains, but for Ontario, it's goodness.

When I was living in Timmins, I was always wondering if it could be any more dull and boring!

Try loooooong...

I'd seriously consider heading the south route from Sault Sainte Marie and coming across through Duluth, Bemidji, Grand Rapids, Minot and up, maybe even through Estevan...

Looks like I2 all the way to Minot and then 52 north. Fuel should be cheaper and, as many have mentioned on T'Bricks, there will be rest stops, fuel stops, etc well spaced. Not so much on the TCH through Northern Ontario although your chances of meeting up with a moose are far better on the TCH...

When you're driving 5000km, fun isn't necessarily high on the priority list. Getting to your destination safely, efficiently and economically would rate higher than fun...to me anyways. Going to Banff? Yeah...fun probably takes preference over any of the above...

While I agree with Dale re: taking the US route as it is faster, but I prefer the trip across the top of the great lakes. At this time of year, go for speed, save the scenic trip when it is actually scenic.

I still don't see where the fun. Northern Ontario is as flat as Saskatchewan. The only difference is that rather than to see field, you see trees. BOOOOOOOOOOORING!

I remember when I had to go to work: 27km from town. 5 curves and 1 flat straight spot of 20km. If your car was well aligned, you align your car and you don't need to touch the well for 12 minutes.
