The answer is...not very; particularly if the machine screws that hold your quarter windows in aren't rusty.

Yesterday I locked the only key I have for the 242 in the car. A big phillips head screwdriver and 15 seconds was all it took to have the door open and the keys retrieved.

Note to self...don't leave anything valuable in the 242...

I used to carry a screw driver around with me for when I locked my keys in the car.

Ah, my worst nightmare. Lock my keys and tools in the trunk.

I did it once, but my tools were in the shop. 1 4 foot extension later and I undid the two latch bolts to the trunk though the arm rest hole and it swung open.

My sail windows are always open in the summer, to add further easy access. Glad there is nothing in a non-volvo perv wants anyway.

You've been "in to" volvo's for how long? And you saw/thought of this now?

in a pinch, I've done this a couple of times in and around 242's that had keys, etc locked in them.

Anything is a screw driver, and especially if the screws are in mint shape a dime will work :-)

I tried to pull the quarter glass outta my GT by taking the screw out. And I could NOT get the glass to separate. There is some glue on mine. Even once I pulled them right off with the brackets, I couldn't get them apart. Guess mine is somewhat secure
