Hey Guys,
I figured I'd start a little picture thread about putting the car back together. Like so many things, assembly is the reverse of disassembly, but it takes longer. Too many things to clean and polish.
So lets start with the outside of the car...would someone remind me to TARP my damn car next time I take it apart. Overspray on everything (from POR15, epoxy primer, top coat you name it, I had it on the car). So a full 10 hours on Saturday wet sanding (800, 1000, 1500, 2000 grit) then on to the polish (cut, polish twice) and it's looking better than ever. I managed to get all the orange peel off the original paint (good thing it was plenty thick).
Here's how the outside will look until I block it all out and repaint it next spring.

Now on the the wiring. All the wiring was stripped out to paint the car, now it's got to all go back in. With the 122 this means commitment, as the harness all goes through the firewall, no cheating with firewall connectors.
So after getting it all stuffed back into the engine bay, I cut off all of the previous sheathing and started to sort the wiring out. They don't take much time at the factory, so I strung it all out and untangled the mess. Then all wires and contacts are cleaned with lacquer thinner and a brass brush respectively.
New sheathing is being made with Painless Wiring's braided wire sheath and heat shrink. Looks pretty good - yup, still waiting for engine parts.
