This is a feeler for interest, so I'm not posting a price. It will be reasonable for both parties, as in I'm not interested in giving it away but I'm not going to ask top dollar for it either.

- Green/Blue 740 turbo wagon
- Body is meh - okay, but not great. Typical tailgate/sunroof corrosion and a few dents, parts have had body work in the past, you get the idea.
- Black/checker hybrid interior, fair shape.
- B23 bottom end, rebuilt with BMW piston squirters and Buick forged pistons, fully balanced
- 530 head, enlarged and ported, with 46/38 stainless one piece valves
- compression ratio is 9.2:1 with this head, would be over 10:1 with a stock head. Engine was built with 130 octane CNG in mind.
- ported 90+ manifold, 60/63 Ford turbo.
- Isuzu UD Intercooler
- in-block distributor
- 8mm Taylor plug wires/coil wire, custom built for this car
- Hydraulic clutch M46 car, though I've replaced the original with one from a 240 that I've refreshed with new bearings and synchros.
- Flat 8.5" flywheel with Clutchnet clutch
- G90 locking differential
- Bilstiens in the rear, with overload springs - stock stuff up front.
- IPD sways front and rear
- Dog Gate
- Pioneer CD/MP3/WMA deck, MBquart/Blues Audio 3 way speakers in the doors
- E-code headlights/markers with Hella Yellowstar bulbs in the headlights and fog lights.
- Decent Kumho snows on scabby Hydras
- 3" turbo-to-tail exhaust with V-band clamps for easy disassembly
- beefed up rear subframe
- stainless braided brake lines
- new motor mounts, hoses, etc - engine was installed this past summer.
- 2 year old rear wheel bearings, 2 year old balljoints & tie-rods, new tie-rod ends
- 135 amp Ford alternator
- relayed headlights & extra relay for auxiliary driving lights
- brand new 1000 ca / 850 cca battery

The extras:

Comes with dent-free aluminium hood, V15 turbo cam, chipped ECU and probably some other 4cyl Volvo bits I won't need like an extra AMM, intake manifolds, etc.

The gotchas:

Brakes suck. They work and are reliable, but the rear calipers are heavily worn and probably could use replacing. This would probably fix all squeals and low pedal, both of which this car has. Front shocks are on their way out - they work, but aren't great, and the passenger front goes clunk when you hit the brakes. Gas gauge doesn't work - it's the sender and I've been keeping my eyes open for one in the JY, but I never seem to have the tools to pull one when I do find one. Driver's lumbar support is broken in the typical 740 way, but unlike a 240 you can totally live with a broken one. Flywheel NEEDS to be balanced - it's very rough and I installed it without knowing how out of balance it is. Haven't had time to deal with this. Driveshaft probably could stand rebuilding. Chassis is a bit flexy.

I want to get rid of this car because I have too many projects and I am trying to simplify my life. This car is too close in too many ways to my summer project - the 780 - and is tainting the whole experience for me. I could quite easily fix the issues and live with it for a while longer, but honestly I'm sick of it. There are too many good parts in the car to just throw the thing away, but if enough people are interested in enough of the large items, I MIGHT part it out. Don't ask me for the camshaft or the turbo and expect me to part it out, for instance.

So, would anyone be interested?

Wooden shoes...calling wooden shoes. This car is a peach and Matt is being painfully honest about its condition - it's a bargain at whatever the price.

Fag.

Edit - that was the first thing out of my mouth, just before I started shaking my head, smiling, and saying "good one".

Added a few things I'd forgotten about to the list of goodies.

I'm a little slow but I think he wants me to buy your car. I really need to sell my truck to make room and appease the Minister of Finance. I am really supposed to be looking for a slow 740 sedan ie: no turbo for daughter #2...

edit: Should have said this does sound very interesting, just not sure how to finance/fit it into the fleet right now.

1999 Dodge Ram QC SB 4x4, Sport Pkg, SLT trim incl. everything except leather and the high end stereo. Has all color matched Lo-Rider cover, factory boards and spray-in box liner. Intense pearl coat blue (that's what they call it, bright blue) with grey interior. Has a 10 disc CD stacker that works but on it's terms, ~270K km mostly highway.

Well I'm actually looking at '00 to '04 Ranger 4x4s at the moment, but what are you looking to get for your Dodge? I'm sure we could work out a swap value for each, if it worked out that way.

According to kelly blue book (yeah i know, but it's a reference point) in Good condition $8190, Fair: $7260. I would rate mine in Good condition but obviously the market is lower than either of those numbers.

If I advertised it I would probably put it up at $6500 and try for $6K and see what came up for offers. Forgot to mention it's a 1/2 ton and has a 360 c.i., auto trans with towing package, factory alarm, keyless entry, and overhead computer along with all of the other stuff.

How many km's on the wagon and what number did you have in mind?

The odometer is showing 315 and change, but the engine is maybe 4000 km old, as are the bits inside the tranny I replaced. No idea how old the tranny hard parts are... I was thinking in the $2,000-2,500 range, since I've got more than that in the engine alone, let alone the stuff bolted to it, so I might as well lose my shirt on this one too since that seems to be the way it goes with me.

I'm really not too excited about such a big truck - this is something I've got to live with on a daily basis, drive and park and all that jazz. A 4 door full size pickup with a live front axle and a 360 isn't really what I had in mind at all. If all else fails, though, and I DO like the colour you've got.

Yeah i hear you, the live axle is great when you need it (not like all of those el camino 4x4's) but around town it does get old in a hurry. The 360 is not that bad on the highway if you're careful, but it's not too shy about gas in the city. I'm kinda partial to the color as well, with the matched boards and lid it's a whole lotta blue.

If I get mine sold maybe I can look at yours, although it would cause some fleet shuffling on this end.

I guess while I investigate a complete sale, I should also see if anyone would be interested in me parting it out. The trigger for the part-out would be the engine longblock: that's the majority of the value in my mind, so let's start there.

Engine - $1500
Transmission - $200
Exhaust - $300
Turbo & exhaust manifold - $300
Sway Bars - $200
Intercooler - $100
Hydras & snows - $500
V15 cam - $100
Aluminium hood - $100
E-codes - $150
Fogs - $50

Or make an offer on the complete car & you get it all for less, along with whatever else I haven't listed here. If you're interested in parts, don't get too excited about what you see here until I've got the engine sold. Nothing else will inspire me to break out the wrenches.
