On top of that she is completely non responsive to the gas pedal until the engine is FULLY warmed up. Neutral or drive can not rev until that needle hits the half way mark and then it is gut less. It has done this to me before but not to this extreme and i blamed it on trac control not wanting me to slide...any ideas what broke or froze this time? I am guessing something throttle related but i do not know. thanks!

Could be a couple different things. MAF sensor could be failing, the O2 sensors could be failing, something could be up with your ignition system like the cap and rotor. Theres a couple things you could try to narrow it down but it would set an engine light because you would be unplugging things. I had a car in that took me forever to fix, 10v 850 with no response, turned out to have had the wrong O2 sensor installed (somewhere else) but that was a bitch to find.

temp sensor or maf my guess.
a vacumn gauge hooked up to a vacumn port would help as well to see if any engine mechanical problems are present.(lack of compression)

hmm hmm hmm. I may stop by crappy tire this weekend see if I can find a vaccum gauge within my price range.

Otherwise....paul....miss viv may be darkening your doorstep again.

Started fine and revved while still cold this morning but I'm still lacking oomph. Turbocharger, turbocharger, wherefore art thou turbocharger?

How would I check if it were the maf? disconnect it and see what happens?

Didn't your IC freeze last year? Perhaps it happened again.

Possibly and this time it just did not freeze completely? But when it froze last year i could not get it started - what happened thursday night was it started up just fine just was non responsive to foot on the gas. although with that as a thought i gotta wonder how this condensation is getting into my ic in the first place when i barely do any city driving anymore...that is what the tech blamed last year was the short city jaunts - ach i hate being car dumb lol

If it's anything electronic or fuel related, you should have thrown a code. If it's an engine or airflow thing, it'll go unnoticed by the compy. Check your airbox, air passages, air filter, intercooler + piping, etc.

The IC should still have a small hole in it to drain the water as it gets in there. The hole usually doesn't get replugged for that reason.

Jordan, umm...I dunno? What do you mean by blow by?

Matt- provided the warm weather keeps up (or if I'm smart and take a sick day...damned office plagues) I'll be checkin that this coming weekend...sadly my weekend was spent in a daze of nyquil and herbal teas...and I'm STILL diseased!

Andy - i'll have to take a peek to see where that hole is. I guess it's possible that got clogged somewhere along the line maybe...

Blow-by is what happens when piston rings stop doing their job of sealing the combustion chamber. You end up with fuel, air, moisture exiting the bottom of the cylinder past the rings (blowing by them) instead of exiting the exhaust valve as intended. This excess gasseous mixture is then fed back into the intake via the crankcase ventilation system.
