That really is a pretty good looking car. Too bad it's a 240 and therefore rusty, but that can be fixed.

By the way, I've got all the panels to fix that, and they're available as I won't be using them.

still debating whether to buy those off you or not matt. i'm so sick of dealing with a rusty, rattly car. not sure i have what it takes to fix it up and KEEP it fixed though.

audidudes looks cleaner than mine, from afar anyway...

guys....thoughts.

Is there someone seriously interested in this? or should/can I jump on it?

Cause really, we know I'm getting THISCLOSE to retiring "Christine" into a summer only car...

Audi....couple questions for you.

1. mileage?
2. (if it's already been asked and I forgot, I apologize) is it stick or auto?
3. you say exhaust issues, anything else to know about?

Kat, just buy the C70!

240s are great, but you will find it loud, rough and slow. plus, you really need to know how to tune and diagnose k-jet and be prepared to deal with a constant battle with rust.

I'm sorry to say, but just about anything in the price range you're looking at will be a risky venture, especially for a winter car. Keep working on miss viv, I'm sure it'll be alot cheaper in the long run to keep her going.

Athal - if I had 7k I would be very VERY tempted.

and come on, we kept a 79 244 alive for quite a while...I'm sure I could learn...

bah. maybe you're right. Either way, bear in mind I'm not planning on replacing Viv/Christine with a 240...just using said 240 for winters.

you have another thread with 5 pages and 66 replies on an ailing 98 s70 and you want to buy an 83 240 so you'd have a reliable winter car??

yes, maybe i'm crazy.

Maybe I just miss 240 heaters and general bulletproofness.

Hmmm, general bulletproofness only happens with work and the heaters were assembled first and the rest of the car hung around them. If you're serious, sell the red car (it's easier to part with them if you start calling them by their colour) and get that C70. Much more in line with what a young lady should be driving.

c70 would not be a practical daily driver for me, with Peach. As is I can barely fit her crate in the s70. Doesn't matter too much in the winter, I don't take her anywhere that needs her crate, but in the summer I plan on stepping out with her a bit more often, and if she's not in her crate and I'm not around, she tears things apart.

I doubt I'd be able to sell Viv for what I'd need to get that c70 anyway. :(

Okay, let's not torpedo this guy's for sale thread folks. This isn't the place to be talking about the suitability of a 240 or C70 to Kat's lifestyle. Let's start another thread if that's what we need to chat about - I'll weigh in there for sure.
