There are 2 I personally would really like to see:

2) could you PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE have any links embedded in threads open in a new window Check

Thanks

I looked through every php file for the forum, I can't find an easy way to do what you want. Sorry.

I guess I'll just keep using the "open link in a new tab" feature in Firefox, another reason NOT to use MS.

The old board opened links in new tabs. This one must be able to as well...

You can totally do that in MS. Ctrl+left click.

I just noticed the forum clock is still on MST, if that matters. :wink:

Everyone sees time based on their user control panel preferences. The board is set to Mountain Standard time with DST in effect. So the correct time of 1:06 AM (at time of writing this) shows up for me.

the scroll wheel on a mouse is also a button, in IE7 and Mozilla, it should open a link in a new tab. You can in fact, also tell both browsers to do so for every link you click, ever.

Ian, I am not a programmer, that's why I didn't code this site, some guys over at phpbb wrote up a nice forum, that is easy to implement for people like me who aren't programmers, but can figure out how to run and maintain websites.

I'm certain it's possible to modify the items you've requested, but at this time I don't have the expertise to do so. I'll keep looking into it, but don't expect wonders.

In the meantime, use the middle button on your mice, remember, you can configure your browser and mice to do whatever you want with links when you click them.

Sorry guys.

OK.

So to be fair, I got a little pissed at myself, and took another look at how this shit works. PHP isn't that hard to read, and once you get past all the random bullshit, it's almost straight forward.

Look above ye, for there is a new link, and that new link - is Gallery.

Also, I have no idea how to make the forum automagically tell your browser TARGET=NEW yet... But I might figure it out! lololololol

Quote:
Compared to phpBB3, links in phpBB2 had a slightly different behaviour: When you clicked them, they opened a new window with the requested page. This was changed in phpBB3 for a couple of reasons, but one of the most important ones was the goal to achieve XHTML 1.0 Strict-validation for the whole board.

But...

If you do the following:

Quote:
in the file includes/functions_content.php change
Code:
    $html    = "$whitespace<!-- $tag --><a$class href=\"$url\">$text</a><!-- $tag -->$append";
to
Code:
        if ($type == MAGIC_URL_EMAIL)
        {
            $html    = "$whitespace<!-- $tag --><a$class href=\"$url\">$text</a><!-- $tag -->$append";
        }
        else
        {
            $html    = "$whitespace<!-- $tag --><a$class href=\"$url\" onclick=\"window.open(this.href);return false;\">$text</a><!-- $tag -->$append";
        }

And in styles/610nm/template/bbcode.html you have to change
Code:
<!-- BEGIN url --><a href="{URL}" class="postlink">{DESCRIPTION}</a><!-- END url -->
with
Code:
<!-- BEGIN url --><a href="{URL}" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" class="postlink">{DESCRIPTION}</a><!-- END url -->
And then finally, in
a little fun file called includes/functions.php about 2700 lines of code in, you gotta change
Code:
      case 'bbcode_htm':
         return array(
            '#<!\-\- e \-\-><a href="mailto:(.*?)">.*?</a><!\-\- e \-\->#',
            '#<!\-\- l \-\-><a (?:class="[\w-]+" )?href="(.*?)(?:(&amp;|\?)sid=[0-9a-f]{32})?">.*?</a><!\-\- l \-\->#',
            '#<!\-\- ([mw]) \-\-><a (?:class="[\w-]+" )?href="(.*?)">.*?</a><!\-\- \1 \-\->#',
            '#<!\-\- s(.*?) \-\-><img src="\{SMILIES_PATH\}\/.*? \/><!\-\- s\1 \-\->#',
            '#<!\-\- .*? \-\->#s',
            '#<.*?>#s',
         );
with
Code:
      case 'bbcode_htm':
         return array(
            '#<!\-\- e \-\-><a href="mailto:(.*?)">.*?</a><!\-\- e \-\->#',
            '#<!\-\- l \-\-><a (?:class="[\w-]+" )?href="(.*?)(?:(&amp;|\?)sid=[0-9a-f]{32})?" onclick="window\.open\(this\.href\);return false;">.*?</a><!\-\- l \-\->#',
            '#<!\-\- ([mw]) \-\-><a (?:class="[\w-]+" )?href="(.*?)" onclick="window\.open\(this\.href\);return false;">.*?</a><!\-\- \1 \-\->#',
            '#<!\-\- s(.*?) \-\-><img src="\{SMILIES_PATH\}\/.*? \/><!\-\- s\1 \-\->#',
            '#<!\-\- .*? \-\->#s',
            '#<.*?>#s',
         );

And it's as easy as that

http://www.google.ca <-- try it out?

Note: The change will not affect existing posts, you must edit them so they can be reprocessed.

*sigh*

clicky! ^

for "My Timezone" (if you live in Calgary, and not East L.A as you prominently display) it should say UTC-7 (mountain standard time)

and in the Summer Time/DST is in effect: the radio button "YES" should be clicked/highlighted/whatever.

If that doesn't work, you're up shit creek without a paddle, and with seventeen angry polar bears in your boat, and bees, buzzy angry ones.
