Discovered today Volvo sold the cylinder head for that engine for 4000 GBP so $7500US would barely cover the cost of the cylinder head...

Yeah, I've been watching that auction, and wondering what the reserve might be. Thing is, I almost WOULD go in on that with a bunch of people, just so I could see and hear it.
That's a lot of money, but it would be totally worth it, assuming it is indeed a factory built product.

Having a dozen or so pics of those heads, the PDF's of the original blurbs on 'em, I don't see why the extra fuss is made over them vs the B234... to each their own. The flywheel won't be of much use on a street car, nor will the cams that'd be in it. The pistons will be whatever ungodly thick rings Volvo was using in the day, and likley set up for 12:1+... The oiling system or whatever that hosing was, looked suspicious, ...and priced north of $4K US + shipping??
