I'm pretty sure Paul offered to buy it from you already...

My turn to chime in, and not about the car, although it is a beautiful.
My comments are about the seller, could not ask for a better person to buy a car from, Geoff is who I bought the C70 from and he is awesome.
Come on someone buy this smoking deal and help Geoff out.

I'd like more details on this. :-k

Kat: my 740 is a mountain goat! It's so well balanced!

Like I said before, no brainer...

Why does that bit concern me.

Guys, easy now. The fact is, this guy needs the money. And I don't have the money. I also lack time and patience to try to sell Christine. Would be unfair for me to show interest, because it's simply not going to happen.

Fair enough that's a valid concern, once again do the math. Geoff is selling well below book value, factor in what the repair may end up costing vs the money you will inevitably pour in to what's her name (you know the pink car...) and you're still ahead of the game with a bazillion less km's on the clock. With Paul's offer you get the car even up, then budget for the valve issue down the road as it sounds like it's not a critical fix.

I'm not concerned about the extra cash, but I'd like to know what it is.

If it's minor and easy fix, sold I take it. If it requires a new motor head, I'll pass.

White blocks seem to get a tick in the top end.

Sometimes cured with new o-rings in the oil pan.

Sounds like in this case it needs new hydrolic lifters and Valve seals. Which isn't a huge job if you have a place to work.

And I'm with Ian, Geoff is a great guy. I'm sure everything will work out with who ever buys this.

Geoff, feel up for a visit in August some time? Hopefully picking up an 850R this week, and want to do a road trip.

You'd think I'd forget that?

My father is looking at replacing his second car that is about to die. That would make a great retirement gift for him. (I still have no interest in autotragic)

If none of you clowns buy this car I'll sell my '92 for more money and buy it. FWIW, my '92 has a tick in the top end too...only sporadically. I figure it's the hydraulic lifters. Not that concerned about it...

lol I'd think Paul would want this car for HIM, not for him to buy Christine off me.

No disrespect here, but I'm not interested.

lol I confess, I looked at pictures and initial reaction was ooh pretty.

BUT Christine remains a good reliable DD. And once that coil comes in...all will be happy and good.

Again, the logistics of it all are just a nein.

Wow, a 2 pager!

Thanks for all the interest, just trying to get the unit washed for a good photo session.

Jordan, I'm sure a visist in August would be good time. I'm not sure if you know I bought a house? Tons of room for you now. Ben sleeps all night so your sleep shouldn't be too bad.

I'm not sure if anyone here knows my line of work these days, I'm a self employed distributor for Old Dutch. That means next volvo meet will have tons of free chips \:D/

Did I mention some time ago the need to explain yourself would be significantly reduced if you resisted the urge to post a response in every thread that exists?

:axe:

Back to the car...waiting in line... :?
