I'm giving up. Does Worldpac carry the OEM spark plugs for Christine, or should I just bite the bullet and get em from the dealership.

I'm starting to question that my issue really is the coil...

NGK a copper plug?

As much as you lads say copper's are harder to foul, etc etc...I've run that car how many km without having issues from fouled plugs...this is the first time coppers have been put in, and I've had nothing but issues. True, they have not all been plug related...but it still makes me leery. Also, a lesser interval for changing makes life easier on me lol

*edit for Athal* crikey, is that for a whole set or is that just one plug? Is it made of diamonds??? or possibly solid gold? lol

Post the same question elsewhere and you will get the same response as Ian's more often than not. You have been having all sorts of problems lately who says it's the plugs? You think it's the coil which you have yet to replace and you want to do the plugs too? What if you replace the coil and clean and check the gap on the current plugs (fairly new right?) and all is good after, now NGK copper are your go to plugs when you wanted to turf them not days before?

You noticed the s.r. on that one is $28. I suspect that's a typo of some sort and no one has bothered to tell them about it...

You did back in December I do believe...

*edit*

If it were the coil, what were the chances it still lives, and still only does it under load? Just a thought guys...

I am curious why you posted this in the Public Marketplace as it appears to be a discussion on spark plugs not the buying/selling of same??

Cause it was originally intended as a "where can I get the OEM plugs"

hmm.. OK given that logic I dare you to create a similar thread on tbrix in their "Wanted" section and see what kind of response you get. Not to mention, given what you have said Worldpac etal would have to be monitoring this board looking for parts requests etc., it's a public forum for ordinary people to buy and sell stuff period.

And if you think this has anything to do with my FS thread getting bumped... NOT, this is a tiny board which means my ad will be on Page 1 for the next year and it's not likely to sell here anyway. What's bugging me is that you post for no real reason in the wrong forum to boot. If I was Paul I wouldn't touch your car again ever. He's your mechanic that you are supposed to be working with to solve your problems. By constantly posting/postulating what may or may not be wrong with your car after he has worked on it says that you have no faith in his work.

You say it's a thread intended to get info on plugs but in the OP you are already going off on some tangent about the coil. I'm sorry but this has all of the signs of another 5+ page thread that meanders everywhere and goes no where, nothing wrong with that it's just the wrong forum and pretty much the wrong board.

Give her a break, she doesn't know a goddamn thing about cars and is grasping at straws here.

if under load the car craps out, change coil and gap the plugs tighter, if there is significant build up of carbon on the top of the piston, on the head or under the valves, detonation can occur at normal boost levels causing the knock sensor to retard timing (if it works that is), regardless and more importantly: Kat, have you let a mechanic/someone who knows what is what - had a test drive in your car under load to feel/understand the problem at hand?

if you just keep vaguely describing things, you'll never find a solution, and spark plugs changed IN DECEMBER are still good, I think the spark plugs in my volvo are over 2 years old, and that is hardly very "old" compared to what I have seen.
