Apparently the whiteblocks can be pretty hard on the bores - think B23FT. Roberta's car has 200,000 miles on it and doesn't burn a drop, but I've heard of some that are so far gone at 40,000 miles they need to be rebuilt. Restore isn't going to fix that.

Price reduced again to $700!! Admittedly it's probably a POS, but for a $700 (or less) beater it's got to be worth at least a look. Oil use could be valve seals or a plugged flame trap?? Restore or some PM on the PCV system "might" be all it takes. Seafoam it, service the PCV system, change the oil add some Auto-rx and drive it. If the PO's followed the standard "extended" OCI cleaning out all of the sludge and crap might bring the consumption down to a reasonable rate. If it's as bad as Matt says dump it in the spring, it's a winter beater right?

Hey Doug, this one is calling out to you I can tell. OK, so it's a 93 850 (93=blech) but it's a stick and super cheap. If you can believe the ad it's not bad mechanically, but the suspension needs some bushing work which makes sense at the mileage.
