Hey guys It's me the most recent member. I'm thinking I might pick up this deal http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicle ... Z178251738

Then I'd be looking to get rid of my 20 valve Auto (Bummer I know) 1998 S70 Red

I was thinking 2.5-3k.

I can take pictures later too. Got a service history since I've owned it investing 7k into it over the past 5 years. The timing belt snapped probably 60,000k ago and had the corresponding engine damage fixed which was a good 4k chunk of that money :S

currently at 211,000KM's
etc etc. Just ball parking. Seein' if anyone's interested :P

Get the vin and check service history of that 850...that rim combination seems familiar for some reason and I can't remember why but we can run service history for you at the dealership no charge.

pretty much the only year you could get a 5spd 850 awd wagon IIRC and they were far from perfecting the awd system. if the tires wore more the a few mm different front to back the centre diff would start having issues. sounded like a bit of a lemon (in terms of design, not quality, per se) from what i heard.

definitely have andy run the vin! and if you're REALLY serious, a PPI.

We have discussed the 97 850 AWD shortcomings previously here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1885. With the mileage on this car and it's known model issues I would check it out VERY carefully and then walk away... Sorry, not trying to be a dick but that car doesn't appear to be owned by an enthusiast owner. Mismatched wheels, covered in salt, couldn't he have at least swapped the rims around so they matched and washed it before taking pics? My impression is of an owner that isn't too fussy about details, not a good thing with a car model known to have issues even with an OCD owner.

True enough. I'm just becoming impatient which is most certainly NOT a good thing. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe I'll look into an e30-36 or something. Switch teams for a little bit? Maybe just drive the Ol' Auto for a few more years and save money in my tfsa

How about this car http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicl ... Z177145595. They just dropped the price to a more reasonable $2500 which is pretty good considering the mileage. Add in the aftermarket mags and the SE body kit and it "appears" to be a very good deal! Plus it's a RWD which is you really want right? The only downside is that it's an autotragic but as Matt says "that's easily fixed", I also like the fact that the ad states the car is garaged right now.
