Thank you good sir.

Also forgot to mention that I got this in the last while too. My old jack wouldn't get under the YROG anymore. Thanks to Craig for the sweet R-Sport sticker!

Thanks Jim!

Progress report for today. I wanted to get the intercooler plumbing ready now that I've got clamps, so I painted all that.

I got the throttle cable installed finally, ran the vacuum line from the intake to the heater, ran a bit of wiring in the engine bay, and then started sorting out wiring under the dash. I got the K-jet computers pulled, and then pulled my old dash in prep for running my new gauges as well as a minty dash I have sitting around.

Old dash out. Glad to see it go.

Feels great to get this stuff done.

Another day of progress. All the intercooler plumbing is in, the idle control is plumbed, the CBV is in as well as a temporary AMM. Finished by getting the new dash in place and bolted down. Looks much much better. A big thanks to Craig for helping me wrangle it into position.

Making some more good progress today. I finished bolting down the new dash, including a front piece I hadn't noticed before. Got the coil mounted, some lights plugged in, and then I started to sort through wiring. I'm using Athal's old harness from his 242, and Matt had gone through it a while back and helped me sort it and label it. This made attaching stuff not too bad.

Image

Right now I'm just test fitting everything to ensure I know where it all goes. From there I'll get the big plugs through the firewall, and tape everything up properly.

There's a couple plugs I'm not sure about right now. First one comes directly off the O2 sensor. The green one goes into that rubber plug, but then there's this double white wired plug straight from the O2. Any ideas?

Image

Then there's these two plugs that come from a long ways out on a shrouded piece of wire. Alternator? Or is it oil pressure?

Image

Now's where things will slow down....

O2 sensor wires are likely for a heater circuit. Early O2 sensors don't have this because early systems don't rely on O2 readings during initial warm-up. I believe the red/white and blue wires head towards the driver front corner and are a test port. Red/white is often tach related too. I'm sure Matt will tell you exactly what they're for...

Dales right on both points I'm pretty sure.

OK, cool. Thanks guys. I'll just wrap up the extra O2 wires then and be done with those. As for the other two, I did some tracing, and I did find that the coil has a red/white and blue wiring coming off of the 15 and 1 points. Hmmmm. But I guess I'll have to do some more looking.

What a mess...combining Kjet and LH wiring together. Thanks to Matt for some help today as well. That said, the engine bay is basically temporarily wired. I just have to run the wires under the front of the block for the alternator, and then plug in the distributor and the battery. I'm going to test the setup as is before I start wrapping wires to ensure everything works.

Dale's got the O2 sensor licked - heater circuit, and I think his second guess is correct on the other wires. I believe the test port wires are blue/white and brown, or green? Anyway, they're usually terminated in the same plug, not separate ones. I'm pretty sure the coil wires are red/white and blue. There's a red/yellow wire that goes somewhere too, I forget what that one is notorious for? My 780 is at home right now so I can't run downstairs to pop the hood, sorry!

No worries. Thanks!
I ordered some special harness tape on Ebay that Craig showed me, which will allow me to put this mess together properly. Also, reading 3 different wiring diagrams to figure out one car is a little rough.

Well, got in another afternoon of work on the car. I got the car full of fluids, and some more stuff hooked up. But I'm pretty bummed at this point. I've got a coolant leak, which appears to be coming from the o-ring on the top of the water pump. Sigh. And then I went and broke one of the terminals on my oil pressure sender. More sigh. A few more things to fix I guess.
