Nokian Hakka 8's is my preferred tire but was told KalTire has exclusive rights in Canada on them? 2nd choice is General Altimax studdable tires.

My only must is studdable and I have access to the studder and studs if needed.

Thanks Dale!

No Hakkas. General Altimax Arctic 215/55r17 are $150 each. Tire Rack kills at $107US each. Altimax Arctic 205/60r16 are $106. Again Tire Rack kills at $78. Go with Tire Rack if shipping doesn't kill...

Thanks Jim!

I haven't lookd at DTD, but I did cross shop tiresbyweb.com, tires-easy.com and tirebuyer.com was the cheapest right now with the $30 cash back with purchase that offsets the $30 shipping.

Thanks for checking too Dale - TireRack shipping is over $70/set in shipping - and tirebuyer is within $2 on price.

Now to research any other bits "while I'm at it..." :)

Checked out DTD but they were $92/tire vs $80/tire for the 16's.

Went with tirebuyer.com and the shipped price to Fortuna ND was $790.10 USD for both sets. (Had to purchase each set on separate devices to get the second $30 coupon). Exchange will beat it up some, but since I'm going anyway it's still well worth it...

Just for comparison I went through Canadian Tire to price out the same tires: $1608.54 after taxes.

Always worth checking out http://www.1010tires.com/ as well. Based out of Richmond BC. I haven't ordered from them, but from what I have checked for prices they can be close with low shipping and no need to cross the US border.

I did check them too but I rarely ever find 1010tires in the ballpark. They are sold out of the 17's but show up at $190.99/tire which is only $12 cheaper than Canadian Tire.

Normally I do try to support local - but they gotta be close at least...
