I just came on to post about that T6 engine, but you beat me to it Matt.
Man I just stared at it for a while and tried to come up with as many reasons as I could to keep walking... Someone must want a twin turbo for some project!

Yeah, and I forgot to mention the M56 in that NA 850, but that car centerpunched a pole and you won't be retrieving the heavy bits without a torch and a LONG prybar.

FYI...PnP has a 2nd Calgary location on 52nd St now. The address is on the website. Walked through this morning and there is an S70 non-turbo with a manual transmission. There is an S80 T6 that has been in an accident so I would suspect the engine is fine. There is a '92 940 16V (timing belt is missing so red flag there) and there are 2 240 series cars- a 92 245 and a '90 244. Nothing seems to have been picked over yet...

What colors int/ext are the 240's? The 92 should have the all black grill/trim/door handles??

I don't know who has a 245 but there are 2 late 245s at the 52nd St PnP. Both have big glass rear hatches...

Dammit! Was just out at ours today looking for a clean hatch. Was doing some work last night and decided the rust has gone to far and its time to ditch mine.

That doesn't sound like a "dammit" moment to me, that sounds like opportunity!

That is, unless you want a vintage hatch...

Yeah, I've been thinking about that. I wonder if the big glass would look funny on an early car? I've read the later tailgate isn't any lighter, so no advantage there. More rust-proof is good, but if I remember correctly, '86+ metal was galvanized too, correct?

Pretty sure 86 was NOT galvanized, started in 88 maybe, 89 was for sure.

Pat have anything Volvo like in stock??

YROG will see no more snow, so why worry about whether the hatch is galvanized or not? If you see a nice clean early one, grab it and keep it that way. A later one would look pretty good on that car though, since you've already blacked out the trim.

Yeah, good point. Probably won't see snow ever again. Yes, the trim is black...hmmmm...and I've got the later windshield, plus I recently grabbed the 91+ (?) 245 rear side window gaskets, which do away with the aluminum trim entirely. Chrome gutter trim is now gone, and I'm swapping to the later black rear view mirror on the driver's side, and removing the passenger side entirely. Simple and black is the name of the game.

Ah, okay, thanks Jim. Pat had nothing new Volvo at all. I was still hoping the blue wagon was there, but its gone. Just the silver 740, and silver s70. And about 100 Dodge Intrepids.

52nd street is showing an 89 240. Anyone seen it and able to tell me color combo, body condition etc. Thanks!

Damn. I should have grabbed one of those later hatches.

740 is now gone at the Lethbridge yard. Just an S70. Pickings are slim.

C'mon guys, in curtalcorn's thread some of you just catalogued every Grampa series that's been through the 2 YYC yards for the last 6 months. Somebody must have at least noticed the quintessential 240's on the yard while you were ogling those rectilinear shaped vestiges of the 80/90's???

Specifically looking for tan front seats (yeah, I know), possibly a charcoal grey door or 2  , and lights which I know are usually in bits.

Sorry, Jim. I was there when there were a few inches of snow covering everything, and that late-80s 245 had nothing to offer me so I didn't take notice. I'm 99% sure that it was beige or gold, not charcoal, and I didn't even look inside. Dale was there again yesterday, maybe he had a second look for you.
