Yo....

Hopfully easter weekend I'll be picking up a 242 from washington (anyone around Sunday Night for someone to crash on thier floor?)

Anyways, I got 2 Voxx MG 17x8's on the way, I'll order up 2 more when they get here...

For tires, what can fit on a 240? My 740 swallowed 225's with room to spare.

I was thinking 215-45-17. But looking around 225 45 17's are alot more common. And its a wider tire for the wide rim.... I don't mind rolling fenders, but will it be rubbing on the inside in the rear or the struts up front?

Hopfully *fingers crossed* we'll be driving home in this....

Maybe I'll pick up some avalanche products on the way through....

Looks pretty sweet Jordan!

Uhhh...didn't you just sell a car?
Not too sure about the tire sizing. However, what are you doing with the rims on the car is the above picture?

Congrats dude.

Ya I just sold my 740. I wasn't digging 7's anymore.... And insurance on it was like 112 bucks a month, going down to a 240 is only 59 dollars a month (yes full coverage and I'm only 24)...

I don't know what I'll do with the rims yet. I have to see them in person first. I might paint the center black, and leave them on.... I don't know. If I do sell them, I'll post them here first... They are BBS rims...

Jordan..

That is one sweet looking 242! Keep us updated on what's happening. I'm going to Regina this weekend, be nice to get that journal to you maybe the weekend after? I'll maybe give you a call/PM soon on this.

215/45/17 is what I have on the 122. They're relatively popular on eBay.

 $90 for shipping to a US address. No Paypal from Canada but still...cheap...

Never heard about Wanlis... Is that new? And how come it's so cheap? China crap?

Why did some 240 had their Volvo logo in the upper corner of the grill instead of the middle like any normal Volvo?

Dale

That's the same tire on my 244 excpet I was 225/45/17. It's really unbelievable how cheap they are! Performance seems quite good as well...

It still seems wrong to be driving on tires so cheap... but hard not to when they do the job. I wasn't crying when my alignment was way off last year and I burnt two up. I know another set is just a couple hundred away :D.

I saw that Wanli on E-bay. A bunch of them actually. When I searched for 225's though, huge amounts of tires showed up in all sorts of price ranges.

I think I'll probably go 215 for the first set.

Sure greg, if I don't like them. They are 16's.

I have 215/45 on my 17x7.5" Tethys', and they fit nicely. Net offset including spacers was 24mm on the front and 17mm on the rear, no rubbing anywhere. I'd already rolled the rear fenders a little so that might have helped, but I don't think they would have rubbed anyway.

With an 8" rim you may need to go with a little less offset on the front, more like the factory 20mm, because the rim comes very close to the strut tube.

215/45 is best fit on 7-8" rims for most tires, so they should do you fine but if it were me I'd go with something a bit wider to take advantage of the rim.

I have some tires I swiped from work.

2 are 225-45-17's.

But the other two are 245-40-17.... I think these will be too big for the rear? Agree? These two are pretty worn down, and I'd maybe get half a summer out of them....

All 4 are michelin Pilot sports...

Shouldn't be too bad, depending on offset. Dale had 245s in the rear without trouble, and I've heard with good rolling & perfect fit, 265s will go back there, with the odd rub on the inside.
