Ya, stock tuning seems to run really rich. My 940 is the same. If you're only making 175whp at 16psi I'd say something is wrong though Ras, you should be making a fair bit more than that, even on a totally stock car. My car did 165whp at 10psi and that was with some pinging issues.

How about super rich, no timing, and the worlds smallest turbo?

My car runs real rich in boost. So does Poik's LH2.2 744T. Like high 10s/low 11s. I can see a sort of black "jet trail" if you will while at full load/5500 while getting on the freeway. It is definitely fairly pronounced. No blue smoke at least though.

How do you find out if you're rich or lean?

when you do a dyno run you can have an exhaust gas analyzer hooked up for an extra fee that will tell you the air/fuel mixture.

Or you can use a wideband O2 sensor, or even a narrowband O2 sensor if you dont need to know the specifics

Darth will hit the high 9s occasionally, timing is still screwy, and turbos don't get much smaller than the wee mitsu that is on there, so there's still something wrong with your motor IMO ras. You did make alot more torque than me though, so I'm not sure what that means.

Why is it you would say there is something wrong with my motor? There is absolutely nothing wrong with my motor. 9s AFR?!

My turbo is INCREDIBLY innefficient at 16psi, thats ALL there is to it.

3rd gear pulls, thats why my torque was higher too.

4th was 4lb/ft of torque higher and 3.8 hp lower...

3rd was more consistent and I could play with boost more, instead of waiting for 4th to get done from 2000 rpm to redline :)
