...it's on now. I told him I'd have to try against him next time we can both make it out ;)

Bets anyone?

s70t5 with loads of clicks vs a new (but still pretty stock except for some cosmetics) cobalt?

sadly s70 is auto, whereas cobalt is a stick...

(psst any advice on how to hand him his ass on a plate let me know ;)

So much to learn :)

listen to me, and your car will go faster down the track, listen to maybe a few others and it'll be quick, but less brutal :)

s70 t5s are pretty quick, I think you could take it if you up the boost just a couple psi. I've driven those a bunch of times and they always put a grin on my face.

You youngsters are up WAYYYY too late :?

I just did a quick check, the Cobalt seem to have 3 engine options: 148hp, 173hp and a supercharger 205hp. You S70T5 is 236hp

The Cobalt weighs 2800 lbs where as your S70 weighs 3270.

Power to weight ratio on the Cobalt
18.9 lbs/HP for 148hp engine
16.2 lbs/HP for 173 hp engine
13.6 lbs/HP for 205 hp engine

S70T5
13.8 lbs/hp

You should be able to take the Cobalt as long as it is not the Supercharged engine, if it is that would be a very good race

I've had a 760 for oh...about 6 or 8 months now. Matt's old white one.

B23FT clone with 90+manifold and mildly ported 405 head. She's got a little giddyup. It's Beth's daily driver so it doesn't get stressed that regularly...

Raz I had a thought....last night you were telling me for my start...foot on the gas foot on the brake and let the brake go when it's time to giddyup?

What about car in neutral to get the revs up then throw her in drive when its time to go?

No!!!

That'll wreck things faster than Raz does. What you're doing by throttle and brake at the same time is building turbo boost because the engine is under load. In neutral there is no load and thus no turbo boost to add power off the line. Brake stands are hard enough on the transmission. Neutral drops are a sure recipe for a date with a mechanic...

On the other hand, Andy is.....ah...nevermind. You don't need the grief.

Of dealing with mechanics...not Andy. He's actually a nice guy...
