Lots of comments of various Volvo boards regarding creaks and noises from 70 series cars. Most common are upper spring seats, sway bar links, ball joints and control arm bushings

I can do the pressure wash and undercoating at work, I can just check the car here to be honest one night. That would be easiest.

Another option, if it creaks when pushing on it... Would be sway bar bushings.

Links Clunk more than anything. They can squeak if the car is sitting still and you turn the wheel side to side. You can inject grease into the links, prolongs their life.

I've found the rocks in springs cause more of a BOING than a squeak. We get this quite a bit here since our roads are crap.

Another thing, again more of a clunk. Is sometimes the spring will just touch the perch in the front at the bottom. You can see it if this is happening. You'll see the shinny part. Just use a pry bar and bend it out of the way.

BUT, I'm with most other people, probably the upper mounts. They are pretty common.

Also, the front engine mount, directly below the crank pully. They don't last long at all, and not many people bother replacing them. They don't squeak though, more of a vibration.

Heres another good one.

The steering bushing at the firewall for the steering column will squeak when you are turning the wheel. Its an easy fix, pull back the boot and push the little clip down and put a bunch of grease in there and bam, quiet.

Also another squeak are the steering stops, if they are dry then they will make noise but thats only on full lock of the steering wheel.

But i'll be at the meeting, I can figure that one out for ya.
