also started molding the buttcheek sub-box. pics in a little while

anybody got a LH 2.2 001 ign ecu, turbo fuel rail and over type fpr or an oil pressure sender laying around? :?

A PM and some feedback on Tbrix would be in order. Last time I was at the Calgary PYP there was an intact 740 turbo there...probably been crushed by now, but they are there all the time.

That 740 was actually a '90, so it had all LH2.4 stuff. Not that it matters anymore, because it's gone, but Craig's right: they show up all the time. You have to be pretty early to get the computers, though.

I still have that chipped one.

aside from a slight oil leak which i fixed, and the radiator pissing fluid (anybody have a good one thats not rusty?) it goes pretty good, nice turbo sound :D

yeah i need the ignition box, not the ecu sorry. and i pm'ed him, so hopefully we can sort it all out.

Good to hear it is working out
I think it is a good idea to talk with the seller first like you did, give them a chance to make things right.

yeah, put a smile on my face. it needs more boost now 8)

Ian pm'ed me back, saying that he understood. and asked what i meant by the ignition box. Am i wrong in thinking that there are two boxes required? or what?

lol, this sounds noobish but... (It is noobish, i just dont want to admit it)

Is the ignition box the same as the Ezk? sigh, im confused

Stateside, the 240 uses the horrible mopar "shake and bake" ignition brain as it is famously nicknamed bracketed to the washer tank in N/A cars with LH1.0/2.0/2.2. Only with LH2.4 or 3.1 did they get around to making a nice wiring harness for both the spark and fuel and put both computers in the cabin and also gave it EZK at that time.

I personally prefer bosch breakerless to EZK and use it with LH2.2 with no issues. I also am lazy and hate extricating the wiring and LH2.2 EZK turbo box from 7 series cars...almost as much as I hate earlier 80s 7 series cars, but that particular thing is just a drop in the bucket of hatred. I've also had to work on hackjob 240 rats nest wiring on cars that are LH/EZK converted and love making fun of people who are still slower and less fuel efficient than my turbo k-jet car is with OE wiring or my LH car is with OE updated wiring and still spent more time and money to wind up with a car that us a mess.

ive had some trouble with the car when it comes under boost. if i just lightly hold the pedal down, the turbo operates normally, smooth acceleration (aside from M cam fallout). but when i mash it a little bit (only after a shift) it hesitates a little sometimes. not always, but usually after a shift under WOT. Its at the stock 7psi

I haven't installed the green tops/turbo Fpr yet, or either of the computers (cause im waiting for missing parts)
i could also hear the fuel pump loudly while the car was idling. Connections? probably. opinions?

to to cap, i can boost hard in first (or whatever i pull in) and after a shift to WOT i get hesitation and bucking.

Check your primary fuel pump (pre-pump in the tank). take off the gas cap and listen is the easiest. This will cause the hesitation symptom and the higher noise from the main pump.

Hmm, how about non-turbo fuel and ignition set up trying to handle boost? (Another way of agreeing with Paul)

Trying to put a rod through your block already?

, go fast yes, blow up, not so much

Ive read on tb that the stock injectors and computers will handle stock boost just fine. (the article is called "the bare bones +t") it seems to do that just fine. i don't hear any sort of ping sounds (is that not what happens when it starves of fuel?).

I will replace the pre-pump for sure, just for security reasons. Fcp has the pump for about $50. Or should I just mod it for a walbro 255lph and eliminate the pre/main pump setup? maybe give myself a little overhead for when im ready to turn up the boost?

I don't really want to do this with junkyard parts, I want to do this cheaply, but spending $100 is cheaper than a whole new engine...

if anybody has a good used setup that they would be willing to part with, I would take it. oh and im still looking for and oil pressure sender too.

thanks for all the help too guys :)

no sounds

all I hear is the pump under the car...

ordered a new in-tank unit, Fcp only wanted 35 for it.

Not so fast!!!
First check the wiring to the pump. A common problem is the ground on the sending unit flang (outside of the tank) corrodes. Also I have seen the feed wire break in the same location. So the first thing I would do is check that wiring.... but in saying all of that I forgot this is on a 240, double check with the 240 exerts in the group, my knowledge is 700.
