Man, it rules.

First off, my discount!

cost plus 5% or 10% I forget. Doesnt' sound like much, but some things are marked up 80-90%, but some stuff is only 10%.

For fun, got prices on R-Calipers. 296 dollars including the 65 dollar core charge! (saw that guy on turbobricks with 240US plus 40US core). And I can have them in my hands overnight at no extra fee! Fuel pump/injector relays factory Volvo for like 30 bucks a pop compared to the 107 they list for. AWSOME.

Then, there are the cars. I've driven some sweet cars (Also a Jag and Landrover dealer, and that new Landrover Sport HSE has a supercharged engine and HUGE Brembo brakes, its a rocket)...

But the cars... We don't keep the older trade ins on the lot. They go to auction. But guess who gets first picks on them? Thats right the techs.

How about a 98 xc70, 180K km, all records, single owner....... 7800 dollars (In vancouver thats like a 20K car).

Or there is this 850 that I'm thinking of picking up, 1994, 210K km, auto, no turbo, cloth interior, bottom of the line minus the stereo, turbo rims (columbias) with brand new eagle performance tires of some sort. All for the grand total (from the sales manager) for 2K. It has a stuck lifter that my mentor thinks can be cured with a good oil change or two, and some highway driving, and its power steering/ac bracket is loose. But still, little things, with my cost for parts, can be made into a nice car for cheap. Even here in winterpeg these things are selling for 5-7K in Kamloops 7-12K.

Ah, it was a good day. Also found a super nice house for a good price, in a good neighbourhood. But its probably a bit out of our range, and no downpayment yet. Next week we go for our mortgage pre-approval.

And I wasn't called the devil by my mother inlaw at tonights dinner either. That really made my day!

There is almost no mark up on the cloths and stuff. I did get a really fancy R shirt though, only given to Techs by Volvo.
They are also giving me the HUGE window pictures, the posters, if that makes sense. I have a gigawatt sized xc90 one. 3' wide, and about 10' tall

I can order up some "R" hats or somthing if you want... They are like 25 bucks though.

haha,

Actually, we don't wear coveralls. They are a Uniform. Regular pants and a regular button up shirt.

When I get fitted for some new ones (if/when) I'll see what I can do.

I can always look into clothing also.
We have a local firm do the logos on our company shirts, cost is about $20 and that includes the shirt (long sleeve sport dress shirt w/ button down collar)

And congrats on the job Jordan

yea i posted in another thread a while back that my brother gets really cheap printing done for his mini company he started, i talked to him and he said if we wanted t-shirts and/or hoodies made we could throw in a design for them in his next order and probably get a decent discount. My brother sells his t-shirts at $15 a piece and he still makes profit so they are probably pretty cheap. and i also have a bunch of his shirts that we could use for sizing.

i think they also do polo style shirts toques etc i can get my brother to give me a complete listinig of what they can do if anyones interested

sorry for the thread hijack, but i'd be VERY interested in a few (4-5) Polo's with a few designs of my own on them, as well as a few T shirts with volvoclub designs/logos and some of my own (4-5 of those too)

I am in dire need of clothes, might as well make some cool clothes :D lol

just checked with my brother, to get his shirts done it costs about 8 dollars a t-shirt(includes price of t-shirt and printing), the design needs to be put in PDF format so they can load it onto their machines. Let me know if that interests anyone
