Man, it rules.
First off, my discount!
cost plus 5% or 10% I forget. Doesnt' sound like much, but some things are marked up 80-90%, but some stuff is only 10%.
For fun, got prices on R-Calipers. 296 dollars including the 65 dollar core charge! (saw that guy on turbobricks with 240US plus 40US core). And I can have them in my hands overnight at no extra fee! Fuel pump/injector relays factory Volvo for like 30 bucks a pop compared to the 107 they list for. AWSOME.
Then, there are the cars. I've driven some sweet cars (Also a Jag and Landrover dealer, and that new Landrover Sport HSE has a supercharged engine and HUGE Brembo brakes, its a rocket)...
But the cars... We don't keep the older trade ins on the lot. They go to auction. But guess who gets first picks on them? Thats right the techs.
How about a 98 xc70, 180K km, all records, single owner....... 7800 dollars (In vancouver thats like a 20K car).
Or there is this 850 that I'm thinking of picking up, 1994, 210K km, auto, no turbo, cloth interior, bottom of the line minus the stereo, turbo rims (columbias) with brand new eagle performance tires of some sort. All for the grand total (from the sales manager) for 2K. It has a stuck lifter that my mentor thinks can be cured with a good oil change or two, and some highway driving, and its power steering/ac bracket is loose. But still, little things, with my cost for parts, can be made into a nice car for cheap. Even here in winterpeg these things are selling for 5-7K in Kamloops 7-12K.
Ah, it was a good day. Also found a super nice house for a good price, in a good neighbourhood. But its probably a bit out of our range, and no downpayment yet. Next week we go for our mortgage pre-approval.
And I wasn't called the devil by my mother inlaw at tonights dinner either. That really made my day!
