Have you checked to see if you've got spark signal at the tach or at the fuel pump relay?

You can check to see if the pumps are working by jumpering around the relay, but that doesn't prove that the relay is bad or not. You've really got to do some diagnosis before you go and spend all your money.

I don't think your fuel pump relays will work in Tyler's newer car, Houston, unless you pulled some from post-'85 240s or 740s.

I still don't think the problem is with the relay. The relay isn't going to fail because you pulled the dash. That's why I'm trying to get Tyler to do some diagnostics. I'm thinking it's more likely a bad ground, a pinched wire, or something that's not properly connected.

Ok, I bought a new relay before I saw this and installed it. It cranked for a bit then I checked to see if it was flowing out and splashed fuel all over the engine bay. Then it cranked some more so I checked if it had spark (screwdriver in plug wire and ontop of the valve cover and it fired up on the 3 cylinders. So I think it was the relay.

Now I just need to fix the ebrake and this baby is on the road!
