Hey everyone,

Laureen just drove the 740 on a flat tire and cut one of the Gislaveds to ribbons #-o Does anyone have a half decent 185/65/15 snow tire that they could sell me ?

Please let me know, ASAP.

Thanks,

Roj

The rim is probably still good. Once I drove on a flat tire on a gravel road until my rear tire passed me! The rim was still good.

I drove on a rim 18 km once.. ...first it was a rim with a flat tire, then it was a flower ... then it was a drum brake :)

The rim is fine. It's a steely and she didn't drive that far on it. Just far enough to cut the sidewall up in about 20 places. I guess I'm calling around to all the used tire places tomorrow

I phoned around a few places that sell used tires and none of them had any used snow tires let alone one in the size I need. Then I called Discount Tire up on Edmonton Trail and they had a single Pirelli snow tire in the right size so that took care of that and the red 740 is operational again.

On another front I tried to use the jack that came with the 740 when I went to take the wheel with the shredded tire off and discovered I couldn't even figure out how to use the jack ! What a weird design ! Not intuitive at all. I think they must've hired the same people that draw those cryptic Ikea assembly diagrams to draw the instruction diagram on that jack. Couldn't make heads nor tails of it. Gave up and used the jack out of my 940 instead.

I think I'll try and get a jack from a 940 for that car. Those things are actually quite nice and very easy to use.
