I still don't see where the fun. Northern Ontario is as flat as Saskatchewan. The only difference is that rather than to see field, you see trees. BOOOOOOOOOOORING!

I remember when I had to go to work: 27km from town. 5 curves and 1 flat straight spot of 20km. If your car was well aligned, you align your car and you don't need to touch the well for 12 minutes.

Dude, you need to readjust your geographic perspective. I was born and raised in SW Manitoba. You folks from Quebec are so jaded - nice hills, rolling landscape, twisty roads, and fall colours that are not hues of brown or yellow. For those of us from the real FLAT lands (sorry Calgary people, you don't count) we long for a view that isn't a farm. I use to love the trip to the lakehead, you get so much variety. Northern Ontario is all about perspective (think group of seven) there are so many amazing views.

States or Canada... this is getting to be a bit of a debate.

When I drove home we went from Edmonton to Thunder Bay, and yes that was a long boring drive. I did most of it and we where in Regina at 12pm and ended up driving into Winnipeg at I think 4 or 5 in the morning the stay there for an hour or two and the took off to Thunder bay to camp for the night. That is the part of the drive that I am not looking forward to again. But I did want to stay a night in Winnipeg because it looked like a nice place we just did have much time to stay there long.

The next part was us driving from Thunder bay to TO. We did that in one shot to. And I have to say that I like the drive all the way to Sault Sainte Marie but then I didn’t enjoy it too much because I was getting a little bit sleepy. We took Hwy. 17 and I loved it, all the different little beaches on the lake you get to drive by. But I didn’t enjoy the 90km/h speed limit.

So this is where I am stuck on the trip. I want to see Hwy. 17 again but I think it could be fun to see a bit of the States because I have never been in the States. But I don’t want to cross the border and have to deal with unpacking the wagon that’s going to be loaded to the tits.

But you guys might be right in saying it will be safer and more rest stops because I will be alone this time. I’m going to keeping looking in to both options. But if I do find some poor soul to drag on this trip I will be staying in Canada. Hey I even offered the trip for free to a few close friends, I said you help a bit with the hotel cost and food and I will cover the gas. Then they would just have to pay for their flight home. No one wanted anything to do with that…

I am thinking about posting the drive on the local boards here but I would rather someone I know a bit. I don’t want someone who is going to talk my ear off by NB. Or have my car missing halfway through the trip.

Didn't someone from the group of seven spend some time up in the mountains as well?

;)

and yes, having actual colours in the fall is something I do miss. sadness.

And come on, its only 90km/h if you get caught. ;) just don't get caught, you'll be fine. just don't drive like a raging asshole and they'll usually leave ya be.

:) Should do. Take lots of pics on the road, and you'll have to regale us with your tales of travel on a wing night sometime :)

I'm going to be creepin over to the phone number thread and writing a bunch down just in case that happens.

I do know one guy in the city and he hates it. he moved just for the money and he is always going on about him not finding or meeting people. I keep laughing at him, a city full of people and he can't make any friends... I don't think it is that bad out there
