For anyone who may want to run some Ford rims on their Volvo(s) I have found a cheap and easy solution to allow you to do this.
A number of Ford cars use rims with the same bolt pattern as Volvos use but the hub size is slightly smaller than what Volvo uses (63.1 mm vs 65.1 mm). Actually the bore size on the Ford rims that I have is 67.1 mm but there's a small ridge or ring around the inboard side of the bore that makes the i.d. 63.1 mm. Those rings extend only 3 or so mm into the bore so there's not much material to take out in order to get rid of those rings. It would be a snap to take a dremel and grind those rings out and thus produce a rim with a straight bore size of 67.1 mm.
What I found on eBay was a set of Polycarbonate hubcentric rings that are 65.1 m i.d. and 67.1 mm o.d. So all one would need to do in order to make a set of Ford rims fit on their brick is dremel out a little bit of material from the inside of the bore (easy-peasey), snap in a set of these rings and bolt 'em on the car !
Here is a link to a auction on a set of rings of a similar size. (They don't have an auction listed for the 67.1 x 65.1 rings but they do have them so they tell me):

So for $15 plus a share of the shipping you can get a set of hubcentric rings that will allow you to run a large variety of Ford rims on your Volvo. There are lots more Fords on the road and in the wreckers than there are Volvos so it should make it a lot easier to find a good set of inexpensive used alloy rims for your Volvo. Having a set of these rings would also give you a much wider selection of new aftermarket rims.
Keep in mind, however, that the Ford rims use the same offset as the FWD Volvos so you'll need a set of adaptors to run them on RWD Volvos. Talk to Dale (Pylon) or Matt (Ugly Duck) about those as they sell them.
I'm going to order a set of these in the next little while. If anybody wants to get a set at the same time they should let me know as soon as possible and I'll order them in. I know that most of you won't be interested but I thought I'd post this in case there might be one or two of you who would want to get a set of these rings.
