Roberta works Saturday and I've got a golf tourney to play in, but Sunday's good for me to watch the races.

The weather forecast at this point is good so we'll plan on Sunday. Gonna have to...Saturday doesn't work for me anyways...

I will be an ass and screw up the plans (although this is just my opinion and I am ready for the flames  )

I was planning on going Sunday but ... I have an offer to go with my brother on Saturday, he has full press credentials and full access to anywhere on the venue. He also mentioned that Saturday is the points race (closed wheel). If it is like last year MANY of the cars will not make it Sunday for the racing because of mechanical breakdown (we all know this is true). Rumor also has it that there will be a big block and one or two small block CanAm cars running but only on Saturday ....

So, this means my plans have changed and I will be there on Saturday, I will fill you all in on how the first day goes.

Unfortunately Saturday doesn't work for many of us so enjoy the solidarity buddy... :D

I understand racing gets underway at 8AM both days. Don't know what time any of the rest of you can make it, particularly Greg and Craig coming in from Lethbridge, but I think I'm going to try and head out pretty early...going to try to get there before 9 anyways. I'll bring lawn chairs for Greg and Craig and myself. Everyone else can fend for themselves unless you want to sit on some hard bleachers for the duration. Admission is $10, btw...

Greg and Craig, if you get Deidre to drop you out there, I can certainly give you a lift back to our house.

Don't forget the sunscreen although it's supposed to be a little cooler and a bit cloudy Sunday...

I'll roll out of bed and head down there too, probably 9ish. Give you a shout when I get there Dale, or on the way to see if anyone needs coffees.

I'm going to pull the trailer out. It's already hooked up to the truck so it's no big deal. That way we have somewhere to keep our drinks cool and we can BBQ some burgers for lunch. I've got a bunch of frozen patties so I'll grab some buns and fixins and some pop and water.

What can I bring? Pop? beer? I don't think I'll stay much after lunch though...

I stopped at Safeway and picked up some Coke, Sprite, burger buns, macaroni salad, potato salad and tomatoes. I have relish, pickles, mustard, ketchup. Not sure what else we need. I suppose if you want to grab some chips...
