Here's what I've been up to aside from the 122...there's been some polishing going on in the garage (well this evening anyway). A few parts from the JY are going to make it onto the 242.

Just back from the car wash...didn't wash the car, did power wash the timing cover and the valve cover - years of crud melt away.

I also pulled an intake - here's what 3 hours of steady polishing gets you (other than tired)...

It's like an illness...I see a sand cast part and just want to make it pretty - they are going in for powder next week. Merry Christmas 242.

Huh? You don't have enough to do or to spend your money on? Fer chrissake, Craig... don't get so attached to that car that it becomes ANOTHER project! Says he, who's thinking evil thoughts about winter beaters...

I think it may be too late...sure it's a winter car, but we'll get it out of beater status by next year. The plan for now includes fixing the rust and getting rid of the terrible white paint. The suspension is already fixed and the engine works fine. I'm just going to toss a little lipstick on this particular pig and drive it. It will get improved along the way, but there will not be a +T or megasquirt, Wilwood brakes or any other fun stuff (onless someone finds another set or two of Pegs that they don't want).

Evil thoughts about winter beaters are good in my neck of the woods. Oh and for those that wonder - I don't watch TV, my wife is away most of the winter and we have NO kids...what else is a guy to do?

Still waiting for a rainy weekend...it's basically done, just needs a final sanding. I did get the cedar posts on the front porch on Tuesday before I polished stuff. Greg can verify that I did my house work first.
