See my last posting on page 2 for new reduced price

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've got an '81 244 GL for sale. Mechanically it is quite sound but bodywise it has some rust issues. Would make a great winter beater for someone. Interior is pretty good, black leather. Rear seat bottom & back have no tears or missing buttons.

- B23E Engine, 260,000 km K-Cam.
- M46 Tranny. Clutch is almost new.
- light blue metallic colour. Car has been painted once.

It has some special features which make it interesting:

- Cibie H4 Euro headlamps :D
- Detroit Tru-Trac posi-trac type rear end 8) (Volvord installed it.)
- adjustable cam gear
- two speed custom installed electric cooling fan system - works great !
- Leather Padded 740/late 240 Type headrests (modified to fit early 240
seats)
- Upgraded 23 mm sway bars w/ poly grommets
- IPD lowering springs (stiff)
- Gas shocks. Car rides stiff but corners like it's on rails
- Virgo rims with good Fuzion HRi tires (Supposedly an all season tire but I wouldn't recommend them for winter use. Awesome spring/summer/fall tire though. Lots of tread left.
- Custom sound system. 6" woofers in the back, Alpine tweeter & mid-range cluster in the front door. Crossovers in boxes hidden under the dash. Deck is cassette only but was a high end Sony deck in it's day. Sounds good. 20 watts/channel which is more than enough power to make loud sounds come out of the speakers.

I've got everything I need to convert it back to having the regular 4 rectangular headlamp system so you can buy it with or without the Cibie H4 Euro headlamps.

Asking $850 with the Cibies, $725 without.

I could probably do better just parting it out but I have neither the time or inclination... And I need to make room for an '02 4Runner which in all probability I should be taking ownership of within a couple weeks ! 8)

Call me at 403-270-7319 (H) or during business hours on my cell at 403-701-7319.

Roger

I'll try and post some tomorrow or Tuesday if I can dig the car out from under the snow...

I should've mentioned that I had some custom parts made to regain an inch of ground clearance that I would've lost because of the lowering springs. The car is lowered an inch or so but it still has enough ground clearance to be useful in the winter.

Damn good deal. If I were in Calgay I'd have taken it away already.

True-Track alone is worth half the asking price

Ok, I've uploaded the pictures of the body rust on the 240

Please note that the e-fan I installed in that car won't be included with it. I'm putting it back to the stock cooling system. The e-fan is going in the 740 Ti.

I'd like this car to be gone ASAP. I've bought an '02 4Runner and I need to make some space for it. Too many cars !!

Mechanically, the car is pretty sound. It starts real easy, even when it's cold, runs good and handles great. Was well maintained. Damn good car for the money, especially with all the extras and mods. Body isn't too bad really.

First one to pony up with the cash takes it !!

I entered the links to the pics like I've done in the past but the pics aren't showing up in my message right now. Don't know why. You can visit my album in the Gallery page 3.

Don't have time right now. Taking off to the coast on the 22nd, back on the 31st.

The interior is good. The back seat is near perfect both upper and lower. No tears or splits. I have replaced both the upper and lower parts of the rear seat with good ones I've found at PnP.

The front passenger seat is great too. The leather on it is really nice since I have had sheepskin seat covers on the front seats since I've had the car. The only issue is that the skin on the backrest on the driver's side needs to be replaced as it has a split in it.

The rest of the interior is fine.

I can't believe no one wants this good running car at such a cheap price with all the extra goodies that are on it. Unbelieveable !

If it's not sold within a week then I'll advertise it outside of the group or start stripping it down and selling the parts on eBay.

If someone wants this car and all the stuff that comes with it then they better speak up now...

Just don't need an entire car...some interior bits sure and I think Greg would like the rear axle, that might get you the asking price right there.
