A guy down the alley from me has had a blue '85 740 Ti sitting idle in his carport for 1-2 years. I just went and talked to him today and he told me he wants to get rid of it. He might want a little bit of money (like $100) for it but I get the feeling he would just give it away to a good home if someone would just come and take it away.

It's medium blue (nice colour) with a M46 tranny. Not sure of mileage. Body is not too bad but there is a little rust and a small dent on one side. The car was his mother's and is originally from Vernon. He says it needs some brake work and it had some running issues when he stopped using it. Probably nothing too difficult for someone who knows a little about those cars to figure out and fix. He and his partner bought a new car 1-2 years back and decided they only needed to run one car and didn't want to put the money into the old Volvo.

If anyone is interested they should call Brent at 403-771-7424. Tell him you're from the Calgary Volvo Club and saw the ad I posted for him.

I live in Parkdale near the Foothills hospital so the car is in a fairly central location.

Well the car is home viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1684 and I just wanted to thank Roj for posting this up. Brent was real easy to deal with and a big help getting the dead 740 up the ramps on to the u-haul trailer.

Thanks again to Brent and Roj, it is VERY MUCH appreciated. =D> :D

No problem-o ! Glad to see someone took it and will hopefully make good use of it in one way or another.
