ahh, probably just from having it backwards in my head then. thanks for the correction. I seem to have possibly found a good motor/m46 donor in the P'n'P with a mitsu turbo? it's an 88' 740 turbo, but with 141 original km, and the block looks orange instead of red... but it's super clean and was mashed in the back HARD... should be a good donor for the pedals, b/h, and hopefully engine if it's a full thrust motor...

Not sure about the '88. In fact, I'm not sure about anything before 'round '92 having the conventional thrust bearing. Some time in '88 they switched to the rear thrust bearing location, rather than the #3 main location in the earlier engines. If the block has a big "K" embossed on the intake side of it, it's probably got the #5 main thrust. Are you sure your crank has a #5 main thrust bearing, because as I said earlier I'm not sure ALL of the 16v cranks did.

The Mitsu turbo is a royal POS in that car - you don't need to bother with it. The only good thing about it is the turbine housing, which can be modified to take a bigger TD05H turbine. The compressor section is quite small as well, though in my car it managed 185 RWHP - that's really all there is to give, and an uncorked 16v will make more.

There is a B234F in a 740 at PnP. The head is gone. It was there as of today.
