Hey guys,

I'll be putting an IPD order in near the end of the month, does anyone else need anything (split on shipping)?

Cheers!

What does IPD sell that is worth buying that worldpac, IMC and harbor freight don't at 1/2 the price that is usually better quality?

I live in the same damn town and don't buy anything from IPD lol. I would buy sways, but I almost dislike ipd enough to track down volvo R-sport bars. I just steal IPD bars off parts cars as it is. That or have one of my best friends formerly of IPD make me a burly IPD bar without IPD needing to know about it.

IPD turbo cam is a copy of the MVP cam which is a development of the V15, which is an old sport grind based off the volvo V to run optimally in a B21ET with all the technology to go with.

The volvo V kicks the IPD turbo cam's ass. More efficient, better revving, more power, less boost, less timing.

I can go to the cam grinding shop with am RSI blank and just copy the volvo V...or just get one.

"performance coil." You mean the downgrade from just a good uprated bosch replacement? Short of a rather unusually nice coil, a good stock bosch one is better than most of what is out in the aftermarket. All IPD has ever come up with as far as I'm concerned for developing anything on their own is a cup holder.
My cars don't have cup holders.

so you're saying keep the hell away from the aftermarket coil? do you have direct experience with it?

The ONLY after market coil I would run is an MSD coil and they can be found locally at many speed shops. I buy 99.5% of all my parts locally, but I do have to say the iPd price for my Koni FSD was equal to or cheaper than any other place I found that could get them. Like any retail store, you have to know the product and shop around to make sure you are getting the best quality parts at the best price.

How about just swapping a coil off a good running parts car before spending money on coils at all? If it fixes it, pay actual money for a new good coil or very lightly used. Not hard to find a parts 850...they die even if you take care of them anyway.

I don't really put domestic parts on my euro car as a rule. It'll get a bosch coil that fits right and works right. The better of the bosch coils are better than MSDs anyway.

I see no cause to go lighting money on fire. Most late 90s whiteblocks with serious mileage even with synthetic oil have wasted valve guides and leakdown a lot. Every one Eric and I have ripped apart for fun out of high mile cars that were parted we were at best able to re-use the bottom end. All of them needed a head rebuild. If you use synthetic and change it on the dot, they will go a good while. Most people with 850s and the like have gummed up breather boxes, plenty of blowby and rattly valves at high miles at best. In oregon and california, I predict 240s and late 7s will outlast 850s.
