I need a K-Jet CPR with the last three numbers 004 out of a '75 240. If anyone has one let me know. I had a good one that Matt tested but its since given up, and my last spare isn't working either.

You can use a any without the nipples in volvo land as a replacement functionally...they are all pretty close in pressures and either work or don't work for the most part without much in-between. Whether or not you notice the "not working" part much before it starts to get a bit cold out is another matter entirely.

I'm not really one to advocate putting wrong part # stuff where it doesn't go, but I have for friends or people who needed their cars and were tight on cash with no problems whatever (other than the wrong part # or cold accel enrichment unhooked on a few...I do prefer not to mix and match those for mostly reasons of clutter and principle (and possible future diagnostic complication)).

Sometimes, you can take them apart and unclog them. Sometimes the spring and needle are fubar and they can't be repaired and I don't know where one gets springs and needles for bosch k-jet parts. That or they have rust inside...k-jets with rust inside often ==voodoo. Even the flavor with the nipples is just cold accel enrichment usually...which your 004 doesn't have, so if they were unhooked it wouldn't really matter. Turbo cars you will notice the lack of the accel enrichment when they are working 100% right, but it won't prevent them from firing up and running smooth cold or warm. N/A cars I can't really tell much difference with no accel enrichment...I'm sure there is some and I haven't spent much time since one can often just find one in the many available with no cold accel enrichment.

There is one caveat in that one of them has the terminals backwards and will blow the fuel pump fuse until you switch them around. 004 and 014 swap directly IIRC.

Good to know James. Great info! Thanks!
I had wondered about whether running one with a different number would work. At one point I tried, and yep, the fuse blew as you say, so I never got around to seeing how it would run. I'd rather not run the non-stock part as well if I don't have to, but I do believe I have a couple turbo CPRs laying around I could try out if I feel like swapping wires. I'm pretty sure I had a 014 as well at some point, but for whatever reason it didn't work. Pretty much every one I've tried (probably 5 by now) just wouldn't idle when cold, but would run fine once warm. The one that did ran great for 2 weeks and then died. If things get desperate, I may take one apart to see if its just rust.
