Perfect car as you said that mechanical skills are minimal, you won't likely find a nicer 240 anywhere let alone in your own backyard. Oh and welcome to CVC. :D

That car is too nice to drive.

I got the impression this was to be a summer fun car and that the S70 was still the DD? If not ignore my previous suggestion as you're right that car is way too nice for DD duty.

Seen that baby and Don't think I can just Upfront the cash like Right now. Going to school as well right now makes the budget a bit tighter :P. thats why i'm interested in 240 or 740. I might sell my s70 to a friend who's willing to buy. Thing is I've got no really good experience with cars just yet. I can do an oil change myself and all the basics and i've been wikipediaing terminology etc so thats why I'm getting overwhelmed haha. like today I learnt generally what the differences in a carb and fuel injection are. Just turned 21 so I've got plenty of time to figure stuff out ;p. I'm thinking a 1983-84 turbo 242 would be nice and I'm sure I can learn to clean up rust with some sanding and such a bit easier than just bolting on turbo's etc if you get what I mean hah

If rust repair was easier than bolting on turbos, our cars would all look a lot better and you'd have more time to admire them as they drove by.

that's actually really funny! reminds me of the GT

maybe I will slow down one day Matt, right now I am kinda stuck...just kinda hate looking at all this Volvo stuff I have sitting around, like wheels, bumpers, a car, and never doing snything productive with them

You do kinda have a point there :)

But by the time you or I get to be 'prime age' for volvo awesomeness, the internal combustion engine will be outlawed and cars as a whole disbanded.

See you jerks in the holomatrix, don't forget to sonic shower!

IS this a good deal you guys? The Km's might be a bit to high. says it needs exhaust work and a wiper motor.. Should I hold out over the winter and browse for a 242Turbo or 740 TIC !?

Wow, that looks pretty clean. I wouldn't be concerned about the KM's - it's usually worse if the KM's are low when they are old.

I'd be more concerned about any rust. Also, with that mileage, if no engine work has been done, there's a good chance you'll need a head rebuild- valve guides get pretty worn.

Personally I'd find a clean, high mileage newer 244 (probably for less $) and +t or engine swap.
