not really...

first of all its a '93, the first year for the 850 and it was garbage!!!. i guarantee you that if the head gasket hasnt already gone it will go in the next 10000 k's they usually go way sooner than this. Second the rims are 4 bolt not 5 like every other car volvo has made (except early S40's and thoes rims wont fit the 850) and just like aftermarket rims good luck finding a lot of replacement parts for this car. this car changed drastically between 93 and 94 so many places wont stock parts for this one year alone.

and third it was posted October 27th and knowing Valentine its long since gone

there are only two things this car has going for it is
A) its newer than most cars on this forum (and in a lot of peoples eyes thats not a good thing)
B) its a manual

if you're looking for an 850 you are probably better putting out the extra cash and getting something like this:
http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicle ... Z170873487

but speaking from experience you're better sticking with a rear wheel drive 240 or 740 and putting some elbow grease into it. at one point i figured I'd be better off owning a front wheel drive rather than my 740 and after test driving a few i decided my 740 was way better, way more solid feeling to drive and WAAAYYYY more fun.

either it's got a bad knock, someone died in it, or they forgot a 0.

Either way... it's a good deal, if you can get it for 900 (from a stealership nonetheless!) do it. :)

ya its 4 bolt it was the only year the 850 was that way and there was something strange about the tranny in the 93's as well im not 100% sure what that was but im sure someone here knows more about it than i do.

'93s in Canada were 10v engines, I think. Maybe it's Canada where we got the 20v engines while the US got the 10v... I forget. Something about the engines, anyway.

I'm pretty sure all '93s were 20V, 850GLT.

for a few years though ('94-96?) they did offer a 10V, 140HP option, the 850GLE.

tells you what the dealer gave the customer for it (hint, probably a lift home), and what it's worth to them.

For what it's worth I know a guy that bought a GLE 10v brand new (although now sold); apparently the GLE was a Canada special for '96. Both the 10v and 20v were available in the UK but there isn't much of an appreciation for the 10v!

Cheap car though, looks great in gold... 8)

Hood looks pushed in at the front and looks bowed out as the edges are lifted up on both sides. Seats look pretty ratty for the mileage as well.
