I hate to admit it, but when I lived in Saskatchewan those running boards were popular on many cars and I built a set for my truck as I had to drive gravel almost every day and the stone chips were nuts.

When I clicked on it, I was thinking that it was rubber base board that the boys at school use to put on their Chevette's rocker panels.

Show me a Grand Marquis or Crown Vic that doesn't have those and I'll show you a ghost car...

Now that "vette" would have been a sight to see, my Mom had a 76 (or there abouts) what a POS. I understand the need for running boards, what makes me laugh is all of the vehicles you see that are still putting on the old Dee Zee extruded aluminium when there are newer more modern looking ones out there. I have boards on my truck but I spent the extra bucks on the color matched moulded units so they almost look ground effects with the bonus of the gravel protection.

Ok. It's just that your location is given as "enjoying the 122..."

BTW: I have a LITTLE sand in one end of my rear axle after sandblasting - it was all wrapped and taped up - now I can't seem to get the cover off to remove the roller-bearing. Is there a tool for that?? I can't seem to pry it off.

I assume you will be at BP's?

Jim

I think that's pretty neat, actually... #-o It just really 'works' on the 740!

I found the trick - a slide-hammer - the shaft pulls right out of the splines at the diff (along with the bearings and cover).
