Hey, does anybody from around lethbridge, or at most calgary, have a speedo gear to fit a m46 that i could buy or borrow to get my car through inspection? The blue gear is in there now but any that will fit will do. Also, does anybody know someone good with carbs?

I'm good with carbs...but I don't have a spedo gear I'm willing to part with. There is a 78 244 out at the PYP that should have one.

sorry, i was gone to a family renunion. Are you talking about the white 244 that is in lethbridge? the blue wagon and the white 4dr both have autos, the gears are slightly to fat and not long enough. the trans plug that they go into is lesser in diameter than the manual trans one so it is just loose enough to just fall out.

Lethbridge Auto Parts has an 86 740 with an m46 that I just dropped off on the Retire Your Ride Program, they can't sell the engine or any parts thereof but the rest of the car is fair game.

That won't have a speedo drive gear. Anything after '85 has an electronic speedo with the tone ring and sensor in the rear end...

Does anyone in alberta or bc have a pre '85 m46 trans with a working speedo gear that they are willing to sell? Valentine told me they can't order it and chapman didn't sound to confindent that they have it. I need to rebuild reverse in this trans anyhow, so a spare my be worth while.

Nuts, wish I knew about this earlier, I had the tranny from my 1980 240 in the metal bin but he took it away last thursday.
