You'd save a lot of time and effort if you come down and take a look at what we've done to my 122 and how we've solved all these issues...

darn!

I'll see if i can make it down one weekend when i'm back in town (Though, i hope to have the car on the road by then)

I've been rather bad at documenting things this time around. That's partly because some of the important stuff (engine mounts, intake manifold, header, throttle cable) were done in another garage. I suspect Matt may have taken some pictures of what was done. The engine bay just got its final coat of epoxy primer and is ready for some assembly. I'll endeavor to take more pictures as I assemble things...

I am very interested to see what you've done for sure!

i'm wondering if i can make-do with a b21 turbo intake for now.... or if i should bite the bullet and just make a steel or stainless steel intake mani..... eventually i WOULD like a dual plenum intake on the 16v...

Dale, are you using a t5 in yours as well?

looks like i've found a pressure plate (Thanks jordan) and just need a new clutch disc and to/pilot bearing now. (any reccomendations for the 8.5" discs? )

might bring up the case/bits to rebuild a tranny here in fmac over the course of a few evenings next time i'm down.

I'm rather excited to have a high HP capable drivetrain with a very low HP motor. It will be interesting to see what i end up doing for a driveshaft.

Sticking with the M41 for now. No interest in cutting out the transmission tunnel at this juncture. We're hoping the M41 will hold up to the ~175HP it'll see. I generally am pretty easy on drivetrains so we should be good. Once I blow up the M41 I'll look at a T5. The bigger tunnel may go in when the car comes off the road for the next stage of improvements. At this point I just want to get it together, running and rolling...

The rest of us just want to see pictures...sorry for the thread jack. Back to our regularly scheduled programming. Cue Eric and some sort of torch as he starts to cut up his car to fit a transmission.

okay! working on the rear suspension now!

the upper links will be very close to interfering with the rims i'd like to use. what would y'alls feel about sectioning it to gain clearance? I know a bent tube (well, pressed steel bar) is always weaker than a straight one, BUT if i were to section it using some nice tubing, i may just be able to make it all work.

the other option is to attempt to remove the upper link brackets from the torque boxes, and swap left for right on the inside and relocate the shock a little bit. More work, harder work and harder to locate.

pulled the springs, went all the way up and down, looks like it'll clear well! Just need to sort out the upper link arms that is it.

the stock rear end is 54" WMS to WMS exactly...

i should have measured my 8.8 before i yanked it out, but i believe it has 2.75" of stickout on each side from the axle flange to the outside face of the housing flange. That would make for a 48.5" rear end. I might use some washers, space things out to 50" and check everything again since that 1/4" per side might give me enough clearance... pics tomorrow!

those are goodyear eagle 245/45zr17s. I'll likely go with 225 or so just to give myself some room.
