I was wondering if you guys fancied coming out to play (nice) with the Edmonton guys in September? I'm organizing a two day event with a convoy to Banff, dinner and overnight stay, then a blast up Highway 93 on the Sunday.

All the details are here;

We have a couple of confirms and a handful of maybes! Even if no-one can make it do you guys fancy having a lunch meet on the Saturday afternoon in Calgary? :biggrin:

Calgary guys make sure you study a map before heading out. Jasper is not to Edmonton like Banff is to Calgary.

Darren you'll need to add at least weekend national park passes to your cost breakdown...

edit...just looked up the fee schedule...looks like $10 per person per day for park entry fees. No weekend rates posted. No camping reservations allowed either...

Get friendly with your nearest car rental agency and scoop some annual passes from the clean-up guys... :shock:

Lunch meet in Calgary would be fun. Some might even join you out to Banff for dinner...

we are hosting a dinner on the saturday night, so if it doesn't go too late (of course now that I've said that...) I'd be up for a few hundred km, maybe even on the bike. Though Calgary to Jasper and back is ~800km.

I figured the jaunt up to Jasper then back to Calgary via Edmonton might be a little too much of a trek for you guys all in one day and on a Sunday too. :( Even if we could at least make a Saturday lunch meet out of it, it would be awesome to get everyone together. 8)

Thanks for the tip on the park passes Dale... I'll add that to the list when I update in the next couple of days... never even thought of that! I'm reconsidering the camping thing myself to be honest... !

Well really it's not a whole lot more than what you guys are doing sunday, you just get a head start in Banff. I'm pretty sure Jasper-Calgary via 93 isn't a whole lot further than Jasper-Edmonton. It is a bit much to do on my bike, but if I can get up early enough even going part way (say to the icefields) and turning around would be fun if the weather is decent.
