Yeah, that rad panel I just couldn't toss. I tried grabbing the other piece, but it was a little rusty and not quite perfect in the front. In the end I just decided to leave it.

Been really busy last week cleaning and organizing the garage. Feels much better in there now. Car is also at an angle now for easier access.

Is that my battery charger? I wondered where that went!

Yup! You brought it over last time we tried starting the car. You need it?

Nope - and nice work on the green book collection. Looks very nice.

Thanks! Although now with FCP offering the entire green book series on DVD, I'm not sure I really need these anymore!

Biggest thing I need now for the garage is a nice glass case with lighting to put all the toys and shiny things in, away from dust. Either gotta buy one somewhere or make one. The new stereo amp is working excellent as well. There was a cop parked outside the garage for a while tonight, so I thought I was gonna get a noise ticket....

You need to check out the thread on those DVD's on Tbrix, sounds like a real PITA to use. I bought both 2 and 7 series and am thinking of sending them back as they haven't been opened yet and I'm not sure I want to.

Hmmmm. After reading that, I must say I'm not sold. Having to be connected to the interwebs all the time, having to run Rosetta, and the DRM bit kills it for me. Too bad really. Guess I'll stick with the greenbooks.

Yup, pretty lame product. I doubt they would do a refund but I think I will see if I can return for a store credit.

Been working on YROG pretty steadily the last few weeks. I've more or less been going over the whole car and fixing small things, and upgrading a lot of little bits. Any glass that was cracked or blemished has been replaced. The blue flathood is now on. I did this by myself, which was a big mistake. I properly ran the older style 245 washer reservoir in the back and plumbed it to the front. I did it with all factory plumbing and bits, and should help clean up the engine bay a little.

I then upgraded my e-brake to the one I found on our resident PYP 245. That car is sooooo clean, so the more I went out there, the more I pulled.

Image

Mine was rusty and pretty ugly. Then I started noticing how shiny all the nickel-plated hardware was at the PYP, so I pretty much went through the whole interior of that car and pulled it, and changed anything that was easily accessible in mine. Lots of torx in there too, which was new to me, but it brightened up a lot of rustier bits for sure.

What's left of the collection:

Image

Rear carpet was changed to a later model one, as it covers more of the rear seat area as well. Some later trim around the tailgate and rear doors was added, which looks a lot nicer, and holds its shape better.

Image

Then on went the white door which I had sitting around for a while. My driver's door had been hit at some point, and was the rustiest of all my doors. So this went on, and will be spray-bombed until a proper paint can be done.

Image

From here I started to sort computer positioning. The later cars mount one computer on the passenger kick-panel, and the other one to the passenger firewall panel. That panel has a holder right on it. I tried pulling it, only to find it was spot-welded on. So I just pulled the whole panel to get the holder. It also had a nasty lump of metal welded to it, which Craig quickly removed for me. Thanks Craig!

Image

The block of metal is at the bottom. Extra weight must be avoided. The extra bonus of this panel is that it has a much larger hole in it, which allows me to run factory grommets and still get my computer plugs through the firewall. The old panel would have required drilling, or the cutting of some wire.

I've got window scrapers on order, and I'm just starting to sort and organize wire in the engine bay. The best news is that this has actually been fun. Almost every day I'm just excited to get out there and do something....even if its just really small. Things are looking up.
