Cool...

the 122 is rolling but powerless...as in, no engine. The B18 is out. The B20 is on the stand getting cleaned up and a new waterpump...

ah gotta love the month of may!

Once I finish with the pedal assembly tonight, it's just a matter of figuring out how the LH works, installing some kind of intake, then I'm on the road!

Of course I still need to work out seating arrangements, hook up overdrive, and re-install the interior. That's also just putting the stock intercooler setup back in. oh, and rust touch up, installing true trac, swapping suspension from the 245....

but with luck the 242 will be at dyno day!

I think the engine that's in the blue car is self-machining again. I'm going to start cleaning up the spare block and I should be at the dyno day, but I'm not sure if i'll have it tuned well enough by then.

It might not be that bad... The oil pressure gauge does some funny things sometimes, but generally it's pretty reliable. The car seems to generate lower oil pressure in the morning, after it heats up, than it does in the afternoon...

This morning it was making great pressure and then all of a sudden it was making LOUSY pressure. I tapped on the gauge and it came up, but I was still worried. I had to run around at lunch today and after getting it up to FULL operating temp, it runs with about as good an oil pressure reading as I can expect - 2 bar hot idle and 3 bar by 2000 RPM.

I'll change the oil tonight and have a look for some shavings. Hopefully I find nothing, but if I do I'll be prepping that other engine of mine for a swap in an awful hurry! Either way, the car should be running for the dyno day but I've got a bit of a high RPM skip and the air/fuel ratio ain't great, and I STILL haven't played with the ignition timing.

Keep us posted Matt

If you do need to swap engines I should be able to give you a hand. I only have a few items to finish up on my car before the Dyno Day

Hey Ian...you wouldn't happen to have a few free hours to give me a hand with some brake line bending and flaring etc, would you? Got the brakes all worked out, just need some lines to make them work... :P

Yeah, it's another engine swap. I'll put out the rally call if I need help, but you probably won't see either me or the car this Thursday...

If I'd have kept all of 'em, I'd have an awfully nice pile of garbage main bearings by now. Y'all should SEE the crap that drained out with my oil!
