Looks like it'll be Darth on the dyno. With only two nights available this week, I don't see how I'm going to get the 242 on the road (including insurance inspection) by friday night.

Oh well, I guess we'll see what that little turbo can do!

I've heard that cars run and drive fine without the insurance inspection done on them :-)

Bill of sale, some plate or another ... Yay!

But hey, Darth on the Dyno would be cool too :-D Can you lock it into 1:1? or are you just going to disconnect the kickdown?

We can bring my BBQ up in my truck - I've got to go to the dump on Friday, though.

How 'bout an update plan for Friday? Saturday? Sunday?

My car's running again, but I'm not too sure how good I feel about it. Frankly, I'm getting darn sick of it, and the constant failures have put a really sour taste in my mouth. To top it off, I've got a noise that's making me a bit uneasy... if I can't find a solution before hand, I might try and avoid trouble by not dynoing it. Or, I'll dyno it and see if it blows up, and the decision will be made for me.

It's not an AWD dyno, and it's an AWD truck.

Sunday May 21

After the cruise either have a night of relaxation/hanging out/sleep...OR...leaving and heading home...although Monday the 22nd is a holiday so you can drive home that day too.

input? questions? suggestions?

ciao

It seems to be coming together. I think we'll only be needing one BBQ. 2 might be a little overkill. It's not like we'll be feeding 20 people... Who's bringing the food? Hot dogs, burgers, buns, chips, maybe some sort of potato salad. I think Matthew will have some coffee & donuts for earlier in the day. I've got a full propane tank...

Saturday night? I know I've got a family that I'm deserting during the day so I should likely be at home. I'm sure there are others in that same situation. You young'uns can make your own plans there...

The cruise on Sunday...Athal, maybe you and I can work on that. I've got some ideas and I know you do too. Call me...we'll get it worked out. We should plan to get a reasonably early start so people can head home after, if they need to.

Geoff and Jordan & Cassie will need a spot to crash as will our friend from the north. I've got room...so do quite a few others. We'll work that out later...

My family is going to be here for the long weekend. I told them long ago that I would not be available until saturday evening myself, so I won't be going on the cruise this time folks.

If part of the cruise involves highway 22 southbound on sunday morning, I may join for that section. 533(?) over to nanton from chain lakes is an amazing section over the porcupine hills...

Yeah, back in the mid to late '70s the OEMs had the bright idea to make their trucks full-time four wheel drive, basically meaning that there was a central differential and the truck could transmit power to whatever wheels spun the fastest, just like a Quattro system or whatever else you wish to call it. The central diff could be locked out either in high range or low range, so that the front pair and the rear pair spun at the same average speeds, making traction better but turning on dry pavement more difficult.

Matt's expression is quite comical when he does a donut in the snow in the truck

very calm kinda like "ok now spin around...ah...ah...there we go good girl"

Our spare room is a bit of a storage dump, but we can host Jordan and Cassie in the queen size.
