whos car has the fuel issue Dale? I thought Dupuis had one of these in his 244?

I need to get fuel from the tank to the injectors in the 122. At this point we've got a 240 bung welded in with the 240 pick-up tube and return tube and 240 in-tank pump installed. We were going to work out external pump stuff shortly. How big is the Walbro compared to the Volvo in-tank pump? We had to shorten the pick-up tube substantially to get it in there...

its about 50% longer than the volvo unit, I think I had to cut the feed hose in half when I did mine last summer. Of course you could make a spacer flange for the tank opening to allow more height... actually, I bet theres' a generic flange at mopac or on ebay for some nascar or rally car that wold bolt right on (or JB weld on) :?

The 122 tank sits in the floor (or, more like, is the floor) of the trunk. I'm going to build some sort of false floor to protect the fuel lines. I'd rather avoid making it taller, if I can....

oh yeah, I have 2 or 3 healthy B21FT main pumps that are clean and bagged. If you think they might work I'd gladly give them to you. :D

Thanks...I appreciate that. I might take you up on the offer. Eventually Matt will chime in to say yea or nay on the Walbro fitting. That route would be far more simple as it would eliminate an external pump and the need to find a spot to mount it to etc...

If you'll remember, I suggested it waaaaay back when, Dale. You put the kaibosh on it because of money, and because we had a ton of K-jet pumps to choose from.

Of course it would work. We'll just have to shorten the pickup even more.

Yeah...I know... I'm to a point now where the less fussing around we do, the quicker it'll be together... That was before Ian paid me for some tires & wheels too. Speaking of which... :P

Dale, just thinking...you should go grab a pump/filter carrier out of one of those 700's at PYP. Then you have a bracket and harware/fuel fittings for your filter and check valve. That would make an easy install... Hose Headquarters sells 3/8 hose barbs with metric strait thread and copper washers that plumb right into a LH filter too.

Hey Brad...Matt and I were discussing...I think we'll stay the course with the stuff we have. We've got a known good in-tank pump and about 8 external pumps, most of which were good. At this point there is no sense spending money if I really don't have to. There are still things I have to buy to get the car on the road. A fuel pump isn't one of them...

no problem, somebody else wants one and I only have yours' and houstons' left. I have 2 good k jets here for the asking if you need em in the future...

I was thinking, what about using 2 bosch main pumps in series with check valves and eliminate the tank unit altogether? Then you can use a stock d-jet float/outlet/return assembly...
