thanks, the block is just a b21ft bored out to the 1st overbore, with mahle pistons (thank you dale), the internals are all the stock forged internals which have been machined and the rotating assembly balanced, and i am running a basic 398 head with an A cam. I've done my best to keep everything as clean as possible, but i would like to do a bit more clean up on the crankshaft pully and intermediate shaft pulley- they stick out like sore thumbs.

Now im just waiting on my next pay check so i can pull my old engine and have the flywheel resurfaced for the new clutch. Then just bolt up the power steering pump and alt. and figure out this whole megasquirt thing :P

with the whole clutch and flywheel thing, does that mean you already have the stepped clutch in your car? (need the stepped clutch for the crank positioning sensor)

I'll have to check on which clutch i bought from FCPgroton, i ordered the non-intercooled turbo clutch, so i believe it is an 8.5(?) non- stepped clutch.

yea i just went and checked the clutch is for a non stepped flywheel, so someone tell me if im wrong but i was assuming i could use the flywheel off my current engine(b21f) on this engine with the turbo(non-intercooled) clutch. or am i going to have to hit up pick n pull?

Flat flywheel from any year of Volvo, plus the 8.5" clutch, works fine. You don't need an LH2.4 flywheel for Megasquirt, as opposed to what Andy suggested, and you don't need a dished flywheel AT ALL, unless you really need the LH2.4 flywheel. The stepped B21FT intercooled flywheel and pre-'90 B230FT flywheel has no crank position sensor trigger holes, and is so frightfully heavy that it makes the super short 1st gear of the M46 almost completely useless.
